Attention contributors - New Chatting Group!

NOTICE: If you signed up to be in the Credits of my games with that form I posted a while back, I may have already invited you so check your email. If you do not wish to join the chat group, simply discard the email. Thank you! ? Skype groups are incredibly buggy, and only become moreso when a large number of people join a group. I consistently have trouble adding people, messages don't always show up, it's hard to keep track of what people have said, it's laggy and overall it provides little reason to use it outside of the convenience of already having Skype. Furthermore, skype groups have a hard limit on the number of people who can join which means moving on to a different medium was inevitable from the get-go. Honestly Skype is just not a good chatroom software, it was designed to be good for voice communication and 1 on 1 chatting and that's about it. With that being said, I'm going to have people move over to a new thing called "Slack", which is kinda like an IRC except it's really easy to use and has some features that I really enjoy. If you want to be apart of the new group, please send me a Skype message (or email) with your email so I can invite you to the new slack chat group. I'm gonna close down this Skype group once I've properly moved everyone over.Comments

Pretty sure he's going to get his older Contributors ($20) before getting us newer ones moved in.

Slack essentially is IRC with a bunch of nice features wrapped around it. Like image embedding. And a really slick UI. And better search history. And great service integration. It's just all around better, especially for the purpose Mittsies wants to use it for.

TeamSpeak is geared more towards VOIP. I think Mittsies wants a better messaging and feedback system, which Slack is simply fantastic for. Plus, Slack looks a whoooole lot better than TeamSpeak :)

Mittsies I know you have decided to use slack but what about team speak. I bet alot of people use that and I've never seen it have a problem with alot of users on at the same time.
i would like to be invited..allthough i have no idea where to get this and i am also a new 20$ contributor so i'm not sure how things work yet

irc is too hardcore for most people. I went with slack because it's incredibly easy to join and it's actually pretty flexible. Also it is still possible to join slack via IRC/XMPP.

I'm not a 20$ contributor myself (just can't afford that much now sadly), so although this doesn't apply to me here's a short opinion: My advice would be using IRC. I'm on it daily for what's now a decade, and it's my favorite chat system of all times. It's flexible and configurable, doesn't rely on any external services, and servers as well as clients are usually open-source. irc.furnet.org or irc.canternet.org might be nice choices for a server :)
