Storytime: The Pandemic Made Me Move To The Philippines
🕑 Added 2023-03-09 03:09:07 +0000 UTCI'm starting a new series where I tell little stories from my past. Let's start with that time I was in China and the Philippines at the start of the pandemic.

Tommy I really think you could make a phone book interesting! Stories, Vlogs whatever. It'll be good. A Mineola Fan.

I first saw your vlogs this morning about China and thought to myself your vlog is very unique; featuring the real conditions in the country and tonight I subscribed and scanned your vlogs on you YouTube not realizing youβve already featured the Philippines. I am really glad and thankful that you featured some of the social life in the Philippines. (By the way, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the best thing that happened in the Philippines). I am not patronizing you but you are a brave man/tourist man not afraid to go around certain neighborhoods and I like that re: Documentary type of vlogs Keep it up but be very careful and again thank you,

I've always enjoyed your videos on YouTube. This one is great. I've never seen Manila look like such a sophisticated city. You have also made sense to me of the reason so many YouTubers are moving to Patreon.

Delivering a monologue to the camera in front of soldiers and massive no camera sign was hilarious π

Loved this. We have similar stories, I was at the 6 year mark. Also I guess I did my crazy exploring over there and I'm feeling a bit more stuck over here. Hope to go mobile soon so I can spend 3-4 months a year overseas. Man don't worry about youtube, you will figure this out, I'll help anyway I can. everyone loves you :-)

Sometimes we just don't know the plans God has for us. The "slap in the face" that you mentioned happened for a lot of people in 2020. I was in a horrible work situation and felt diminished & undervalued. Then out of nowhere I got a random job offer and it has been the best place I've worked in a LONG time.

Sorry to hear about your YouTube struggles. I'm glad to contribute here!

The first time I went to Korea, it was mid-December, and I saw a lot of people wearing masks (this was in 1998) which they actually do when they're sick, no big deal to them. I thought it was some sort of Michael Jackson honor thing and he was coming on tour to Korea since he was the only public figure wearing a mask at that time. Hahaha! Not even kidding.

Storytime with Sabbatical.....it can't lose!
