Early Bird: Honeydew Heist, Ch. 01

Some rare femsub/maledom to start out this Bonus Pairing, which has turned into a short series! This is a fairly short chapter, but there's more right on the way!
I really struggled with this Bonus Pairing, honestly, which is both why it stretched on long and why it took so incredibly long to come out—I think it was technically supposed to be an October BP! A terrible challenge for a writer is being obligated to write something you don't enjoy, and having to feel guilty writing anything else until the obligation is seen to. A single 6k-word story turns into an insurmountable roadblock, which turns into other stories not getting completed, and so on.
I did eventually manage to find an angle I enjoyed with the story, but honestly, this was one of the hardest Bonus Pairings I've ever written. I don't know if that's mainly because of the burnout I started to experience last October that continued to climb right up until just before the pandemic started, or because of the BP prompt itself just not engaging me. Surprisingly, my editor said this was one of their favorites of my stories, which I guess speaks to the value of occasionally challenging yourself with some good old-fashioned squeezing-blood-from-a-stone. I like the story. It's just been incredibly difficult to write.
I really appreciate your patience with this, and I'm glad that Honeydew Heist is almost over—even though I'm enjoying it now, it's kinda overstayed its welcome for me, and I'm excited to move on to other Bonus Pairings. :P
(Oh, and don't worry—sly, confident Nevyn is going to have that confidence shattered very, very soon. ;} )

fwiw, as someone who is also super not into maledom (or dudes in story pairings at all tbh) this was still super hot. Also I am absolutely in Iove with this one Iine: "Oh?" This barmaid clearly had a lot of practice squeezing things of great volume into tight spaces, and she fit a lot of emotion and implication into that single syllable.
