I know there's been a quiet period around here, and that's for good reason—too much Patreon posting can sometimes burn me out of actually writing, so I've been taking a step back while I focus on catching up. That being said, I know it's asking a lot of patience and faith, and that's not necessarily fair, so I thought I'd drop by and give a little update.
My Writing
I currently have two stories fully drafted but not edited—"Parlor Kittens" (a Bonus Pairing about two catgirls and an indecisive customer of their strange bakery), and "Good Intentions" (a commissioned one-shot about a sweet fiend and the Knights of Yoric). I also have a bunch of random silly stuff, like a slow-building compilation of smutified hypno versions of every Minecraft entity and every Pokemon card. I have no idea what I'll actually do with all of that.
I'm determined to get three or four proper stories at least drafted before I start posting again, because honestly, having a standing buffer would do wonders for my nerves. That said, I'm really excited for what's in the works! Commissions are finally being brought to heel, and the long-awaited Bonus Pairings, Bad Ends and Intrepid Pawns continuations may finally be around the corner.
I've been having a lot of fun with a new device I purchased for writing, the Alphasmart. Basically, it's an old glitchy early-aughts laptop designed solely for word processing. It's kind of fantastic. It's been really nice to have a distractions-free device, and I've been writing more in the last couple weeks than I'd managed in months! Maybe I'll write something up about my experiences with it in time. I'm really quite enamored.
This isn't a sponsored post, but only because the company that made these things no longer exists. I'm a real hipster writer now!
My Wellness
On a more personal note, I'll be getting my second vaccine dose soon, along with the others in my household. It should be a few days now. Needless to say, I'm ready to be done.
Aside from some problems in my personal life I've been dealing with (which, honestly, I don't want to get into because they remain a little raw), I'm quite healthy and things are going well for me. I get up at 6am, write until 10am or so, then spend the rest of the day trying to work out what to do until it's bedtime at 9pm. ;P

I hope you're all making plans to get the vaccine as soon as it's available, if you haven't already—especially if you're in America, where a truly unfortunate antivaxxer push is threatening to drag this hateful quarantine on indefinitely. Look to your own care, and that of your families and neighbors.
Stay safe. The worst of the last two years will one day soon be just a memory, but we're still all in this together. <3

Much obliged for the update! Glad to hear that things are smoothing out, and that you're doing well. Make sure to stay hydrated-- it'll help a little with the vaccine side-effects, though you might want to take a day off afterwards, anyway.

Oof, yeah, I've heard mixed things about the Pfizer second dose - some people say it's way milder than the other vaccine's second dose, some say it hits like a train.

I may post some sort of write-up, just because I'm *that* ridiculously excited about this thing right now. They really do help, though they don't do the work for you - the real benefits for me are a) having a device I can sit down in front of and have nothing else to do with, b) having a device with no internet, which forces me to spend the previous night copying down everything I'll need access to in advance, which is a great exercise in general, and c) being able to easily pick up my device and go literally anywhere without any hassle.

When I got my second Pfizer dose it kicked my ass pretty hard. Almost exactly 19 hours after the injection I got hit with nasty flu like symptoms and was out of work for two days. Hit all my friends the same way, so maybe prep for that, just in case.

It's good to hear from you. I'm glad you're doing well! I got my second dose about a month ago now and although I haven't really changed my behavior it's such a relief.

My second dose is in a couple weeks! The first one killed my energy for a couple days so I'm really hoping the second one doesn't just floor me completely 😶
