My average day
🕑 Added 2018-07-09 18:50:37 +0000 UTCI wanted to share with you guys what an average day in the life of a phatty artist is like. If you don't care then disregard this post!
I have my own office that's about 20 minutes walk from my home. Generally I go there in the morning and come back after I'm done with whatever I'm doing for the day, kind of like having a nine to five job. It only costs around 80$ a month and it's much easier for me to focus on my work like this. Also it's easier to relax after working when home is strictly for free time. Some days I stay at home to draw if it's raining a lot or I have some appointment in the evening etcetc but I generally draw in my office.
On average I stay 6-8 hours a day, sometimes more and sometimes less if I have a busy day or art just isn't turning out well. I usually catch up later during the week if, say, tuesday was really short.
Comic pages generally take about a day to finish, sometimes more if it's a complicated page. On a good week if the pages aren't that difficult, I aim to finish wednesday's page on monday and sunday's page on friday. I also need to dedicate one day to sketch pages ahead every now and then, so I don't have to waste time thinking about panel layouts etc. Often 2 pages end up taking 3 days in total to finish, and I usually catch up during sunday if I haven't managed to get them done by then.
The remaining days (usually tuesday, wednesday and thursday) I usually paint and draw pledge rewards and waifu polls and other projects I happen to be on etc. Paintings usually take two days unless it's a more simple one. Often I finish one painting and sketch the next one so I've done maybe 1,5 paintings a week. On good weeks when everything goes smooth I can do 2 comic pages, 2 pictures and sketch ahead my comic and future pictures.
Saturdays I try to keep to myself, but often I do some drawing anyway but I try to keep it practise related.
What generally fucks up my schedule is mostly family related, or a trip somewhere or a holiday etc. and that's when I try to do stuff in advance. I think the most I've done is 4 pages a week and 2 pictures, but I spent many long days in the office during that week not to mention drawing all of saturday and sunday lol.
I also have to spend some time doing paperwork and shit like that because fucking Finland, but it's not all too bad.
I'm super happy to be in this situation and I try to remind myself to be thankful about it everyday. I still find it hard to understand sometimes and feel like I don't deserve it yaddayadda but I at least try my best to make the most of it. I feel like I don't thank you guys enough for it, so thanks again to everyone supporting me! I'm really so happy just for the fact that I can contribute to the community by drawing long running comics with plots and lasting characters. Again it's thanks to you guys!
Recently a bad case of art block in combination with having to travel to my hometown for a week (all of my family lives in different part of the country) has hindered my output a lot, but I'm trying to catch up a lot this month. If I'll have a week or more of holiday I'll do the pages in advance so that the comic will update as usual, and hopefully some other content as well. Also I aim to get the DokiDoki thing done in about two weeks time or so, it's got a lot more work than I originally thought it would but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end. Remember, the game will be exclusive to my Patreon so all of you get to enjoy it!

I actually missed the fact that you don't post as much personal stuff compared to when I first patroned you a couple of years ago. You have some pretty unique insights and lead a pretty interesting life, at least in my opinion.

Yeah honestly that's always the best feedback to hear. People send me notes now and then how my comic has given them more confidence in their body or how reading it makes their wednesdays better and so on. It always makes me really happy.
Glad to hear you're in a good place in your life. You really do deserve it, after all your art brightens ppls day and that makes a big difference. Even if it is a delightfully lewd and slightly fetishy brightened day. If anything thats the best kinda day. :)

Thanks for sharing the details, I for one found it interesting. Pretty cool that you have an office, definitely makes sense for having a dedicated workspace. And for that price, crazy. I work from home, but I don't have a dedicated room, so it can get a little distracting.
