Heat waves and productivity
🕑 Added 2021-07-05 18:16:23 +0000 UTCSo Finland is in the middle of a heatwave right now. Granted this isn't nearly as bad as Canada or southern europe but it's still a lot hotter than summers here usually are. Finnish houses are built to keep the heat in and don't have AC's so it's like living in a slow cooker. This may negatively impact my output during the worst of it but I will of course try to keep up like normal.
Nothing is going to change as of now, this is just a heads up that things might be late or out of schedule depending how bad it gets here.
Stay safe and hydrated everyone! (especially those with ... natural insulation)

Iβve heard that putting your feet in a shallow tub of cold water while working can help. Aside from that, do your best to stay safe in the heat.

I feel you its hot as hell here in michigan right now. All I did was leave to go mail something atvtyevpost office 6 min away. Came home wet wanting a shower. I imagine its worse where you are stay cool stay hydrated stay safe.

I feel ya, I can't work or think very well when it gets super hot. Just do your best and apply ice cream as necessary.

i live in Canada, and have an ac. it was still 33 C in my room. so i can imagine how bad it is without the ac. work when you can, we appreciate what you do and how consistent you have been so take a short break if needed

Unfortunately it would require the approval of the landlord to install in a building and they don't wanna bother with that (because people will pay rent regardless)

Best of luck Kip! Where I live in Canada just through the heatwave but there are still warning throughout the country. I would recommend buying a portable AC or at least some fans before the worst part hits

Yo same. In Canada we feel like we're melting, and my house has a couple AC units but not one in my sleepy room. So it's just shorts and prayer keeping me alive. Try to keep cool and don't sweat it (pun intended)

Stay hydrated! You can put tinfoil with the shiny side out and cardboard behind it up against your windows to save a few degrees, too
