Whether she actually "has money" remains to be seen. Saiya was surprised when she found that Tessa lives in an "ordinary" place. Plus there are hints that Tessa doesn't get to keep much of her money and sends it (at least part of it) to her parents, as seen when her mother calls and interrupts her and Saiya when they're doing their project together.

Love how quickly her demeanor changes here. Completely in control and domineering when she has Saiyas full attention again but the second someone comes in she remembers she has an embarrassing gut and clams up.
