Her feathers weren't the best but she had a lot of emotional support in the form of friends and family plus, she genuinely loved how she looked.

That part does if I'm being honest, you're right, but in this case I reckon it reinforces that wanting to fit in at the expense of being ashamed of who you are is incredibly traumatic, emotional breaks can happen at any time, and in this world it happens in a way that onlookers can observe it occurring before even the individual sometimes realises themselves - all the while, there's someone in the background in a very similar situation that isn't burdened by that want for popularity and just enjoys being themselves, who visibly doesn't seem to have any trauma about their size, or others' opinions of them. It's a cool contrast that comes out of this one change of character physiology, whether deliberate or otherwise, which is pretty neat. I just wanna compliment Kip as a storyteller even if this is "just a fetish comic" (with over 500 pages of world/character building) 😂

It would be a mix so just average feathers. People would judge them to be a ten out of ten human on a glance but once they open their mouth and reveal themselves to be an idiot the perception drops. So basically just like real life now.

Fuck man, this is actually devastating. It'd be the kipverse equivalent of watching someone have a panic attack while just breaking down into a sobbing wreck. The actual emotional impact of a signifier of your mental health just exploding in real time is something else. And its not something I expected in a fetish comic.

Kip, I have another question regarding feathers. According to the Alae Augmentum explanation, the social status directly affects the feathers, largely being influenced by public perception. Does this have to do with how the entity who pocesses said augment perceives its own social status or is it like a hive mind kind of ability where the group around u directly influences ur feathers regardless of ur perception of yourself? So for example, if someone is a complete nutjob with good physical traits, has a good perception of themselves and is comfortable with themselves, seing themselves as perfect, yet is despised by society, despite not knowing. Would this person have huge feathers or no fearhers at all?

"Stacy giving Tessa mental help"?... (refrain laughing), she's let her down for a while. Page 510: "Do whatever you want, I don't care anymore". Do you really think she'll care about Tessa now she fully exposed her belly in front of everyone and lost all her feathers? Tessa is not her problem anymore. Saïya is an idiot, and her plan to fatten Tessa up to keep her home to be with Aïka and her satisfaction to be the most popular girl in school is trully evil, but she still more empathetic, she really felt bad for Aïka when Aïka get expulsed from the church because of her, or when the meme about Tessa appeared after sushi, or Page 321 when she realized how much she hurted Tessa and Aïka.

Frankly I'm hoping that Tessa ends up remaining a similar size but overcoming that internalised trauma, with her feathers growing back (maybe even longer and more pronounced?) after a time - that would be a great part of the ending to this comic imo ☺️

Of course, just saying that it's a good piece of characterising and use of established lore to reinforce that the "shame" is very much based on the individual's mindset, rather than just being a "fat is shame" trope - it's what I've grown to really like about Kip's comics, putting a very literal spin on the concept of fat shaming in their world's society. It's just neat 😌👌

Maybe Stacy, but that's it. Saiya is the worst character kip has made so far. I'm sure she'll feel guilty about this, but some how make it completely about herself.

Because Aika has nothing to be ashamed off. She loves her appetite and being fat isn't an issue because of her mother's love. Tessa has been insecure most of her life. Doing this is completely out of her comfort zone.
