JP Grammar Primer

We've noticed a problem with traditional grammar guides: they all try to teach you how to speak!
Speaking with grammar rules is hard, but learning basic grammar can help you understand your immersion better.

Putting "to" in front of verbs is common in English definitions. Actually as a native speaker of English I remember being tought that verbs are words that you can put the word 'to' in front of and get a statement that describes the verb... e.g. to run, to shout, to think, to smile, to do, etc.

I not sure 教える = "To Teach" is really right. The Japanese dictionary form is the same as the English dictionary form, so 教える = "Teach". Putting "To Teach" in the examples makes that clear: "John will to teach".

Great start! My recommendation is to start with the idea that there are subject/predicate languages but Japanese is a topic/comment language. Right now it's written as "here are 3 predicates" but I don't think that is as useful as giving them an idea of how topic/comment languages generally work
