Knitting Setups / Threads (VIDEO TUTORIAL)
🕑 Added 2019-10-29 18:19:56 +0000 UTCSo here is the part where all the previous knowledge comes together. Vertex maps, combined with fields and deformers.
While its simple, is being layered with stuff one on top of the other, so it needs your full attention :)
Apologies for the length, but a lot of stuff are there to showcase. I tried my best to explain thoroughly all concepts as simple as i can. Many mistakes were made as i was talking but hopefully, you ll get the idea!
As usual, if any suggestions, hit us in the comments below.
Happy experimentation to all!

Im sorry if this is a basic question but is this a matrix object inside the clone or what exactly have you dropped in there ?

thanks hehe, sorry im sick atm im afk from the pc, but i think if u use the vertexmap in opacity u will reveal the cloth this way :)

Fantastic breakdowns Thanos. I do have a question about the setup. Is it possible to reveal the base "fabric" plane at the same time while the threading is happening? I tried dragging the "frabic" plane into a voronoi fracture and use the same group to drive it. it is pretty shit lol

heya, mmm im not sure, check ur hierarchy in object manager and try caching with mograph cache. I dont think its necessary though.

My viewport keeps glitching the position of the threads using this full set up. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening? Could I cache the whole lot somehow?

Hah, I could bookmark this page of course :D
