YOU pick the Inktober prompts!

Well, Josh and I were chatting last night, and we got on the topic of Inktober, which starts next week. For those who don’t know, Inktober is a month-long artistic challenge where people commit to drawing something everyday according to a predefined list of prompts. Josh has done it for the past 3 years (or attempted to, haha. He didn’t quite finish last year...). He doesn’t often part with original art, but for Inktober he likes to put the originals up for sale in his shop and then donate part of the proceeds to a wildlife / conservation organisation.
Here are examples from the past years:
In the past years he has followed the “official” prompt list, but it’s quite common for artists to come up with their own list of prompts. Well, we got to thinking it would be really fun and creatively exciting for Josh to pick prompts that you submit!! Here’s how we think it will work:
- Pick an ANIMAL. All the prompts will be animals. Josh usually only draws comics with animals from southern Ontario, so this will be the opportunity to get him to draw animals from any part of the world you’d like to see in his style! This is going to be so fun, I can’t wait. Although Josh tells me to tell you that he will resent you if the animal has fur, haha.
- All Patrons can submit prompt ideas, as many as you like, in the comments section of this post. Hopefully we get lots :) On October 1st, I’ll put all the prompt ideas in a bag and do a draw of what the prompts will be for the next 7 days. Then we’ll do that again at the end of the week (and add any new prompts that you come up with) for the coming week, etc until the end of the month.
I think it will be really fun to see what you come up with and keep Josh on his toes. And I bet we’ll discover lots of cool animals we didn’t know about!

Saimaa ringed seal (Pusa hispida saimensis), because it’s only endemic subspecies in my home country Finland, they are sadly very endangered. Kea parrot, because they are awesome. Any tarantula species, because they are cute. Microraptor (if extinct species are allowed) because small four winged dinosaur with glossy black plumage is absolutely cool.
