I want to believe that birds have these talks. And so... I do! It drives me mad when people say "oh, other animals can't talk". Human arrogance! We just don't understand their language - all living creatures talk with each other.

My intent was for them to be both female, but two males out of breeding plumage works too! Honestly I painted this comic very quickly and used the same yellow on the birds as on the flowers. Haha, this created some confusion on facebook.

I've made up a story: these birbs are either males lacking the black forehead patch of American goldfinch breeding plumage, or they are extraordinarily bright females in breeding plumage. Either way they find love, acceptance, and appreciation in each other. 🥺😍 And their greatest sunflower joy brought them together. 💛
