This is precisely the inspiration for this comic! I remember the first time seeing my face from the side in a department store changing room and being shocked at what I looked like. My reaction wasn’t exactly the same as this bird’s though, haha.

When I was growing up, my mom had a budgie (named Buddy) and she'd always ask him "Who's a pretty bird?" and he would repeat "pretty bird" back to her.... this brought up real nice memories for me. (mum still around but budgie is not). As always, love your work. :-)
