The Lost Mitten - Collaboration with the Perry Bible Fellowship
🕑 Added 2022-04-25 15:32:48 +0000 UTCNick from The Perry Bible Fellowship first messaged me about doing a comic together over a year ago to celebrate PBF's 20th anniversary. I'm a big fan of his comics (particularly because they are drawn traditionally and beautifully), and I was excited to see how our comics would work together. After knocking a few ideas around we finally decided on the story of a lost mitten that meets a bird and is given a new life (or has it taken away, depending on how you view it). As an easter egg, the comic ties into another collaboration Nick did with Andy of Twistwood Tales which you can see here. If you don't already know Twistwood, check it out! It's funny, touching, and always looks great.
The comic was put on the backburner as we got busy last year, but we picked it up again just as the imagery was seasonally relevant once again! Nick mailed me some drawings he made as well as the orange pencil crayon he used in order to ensure perfect colour cohesion.

The comic underwent quite a few iterations before we settled on the one I posted at the top here.

The patented False Knees close up did not make the final cut.
Check out Nick's patreon for great behind-the-scenes on his comics!

I adore the False Knees close up! And what a wonderful collaboration between two really neat artists!

I love this comic. Both of you are very skilled comic artists. I think the story here manages to fall between the darker PBF style and the occasionally-dark-but-often-existential False Knees style. Great work!

I love the "iii" for the tiny micro-chirps of the nestlings

This definitely reads gruesome to me. Orange guts everywhere. Love it.
