Sometimes I'm not exactly sure what compels me to make some comics. This time of year I spend a lot of my time gasping at the fresh signs of life around me, so that's probably enough of an explanation for this one. Even if my ideas don't really go anywhere I try to see them through in order to move on, sort of like how it can be helpful to listen to a song to get it out of your head.

Welcome to the new people here! And hi again to you oldies! Can we talk about how wonderful the weather is where you are? It's not gorgeous in Montréal today, but it's quickly warming and the kinglets are swarming.
Also, thank you to everyone who ordered Spores! I'm glad to hear that some of you have already received it. There is a lot of work behind launching and shipping a book. My partner, Mélodie, is the one who swings the business end of the False Knees stick, so she is the one to thank for this launch going so smoothly and for so many books to have shipped out so soon. There are many projects, like self-publishing, that would be outright impossible to do without her. She has an incredible mind for research and organization, while I handle the more 'bird' side of things. We make a good team!
If you haven't ordered it already and would like a copy here's a link. Like I've mentioned previously, any patron who orders it will get a signed copy and a special Spores print.

This "munch munch munch" comic is a delight! And I too got my copy of Spores the other day and love it! The signed book looks gorgeous, and the print just happens to be from one of my favorite scenes. Definitely worth the wait. Thank you! ❤️

Received my copy yesterday! My daughter picked it up, devoured it, and said laughing, "Bugs aren't WHAT?!" with eyes bugged out. Golden. Thank you!

Nothing like a good munch drawing. My mind sees two more panels at the end: * Bird stares intently at where the next thing will grow ** Bird munches

My copy arrived (in Germany) today, sooo happy, I love it! 🤩

I feel exactly like the bird in your comic 😍 Finally flowers pop up and they start appearing on the trees here! Looking forward to your book! Greetings from Sweden!

> Can we talk about how wonderful the weather is where you are? Not yet! It's still in the 40s (F), it's still raining randomly downpouring sometimes sunny. I should be thankful, it's been dry in the PNW, but I'm crawling out of my skin for some patio time My copy of Spores arrives Friday!

My copy arrived today! It printed beautifully, and thanks for signing it—that was such a lovely touch.
Sandy Kavanaugh, of Hens' Haven.
My copy and stickers got here today, so please thank Melodie for me. And good on ya, for giving her a shout-out, as she certainly deserves it! You both make an incredible team, so keep up the great work, and enjoy this new season. Although I'm leagues away south of you, we still get frosts, 35 mph winds, and sunny skies. It's never dull, but will slow down, thankfully for the birds. Thanks again to both, and soak up all the season has to offer!

I got my copy of Spores today and after re-reading it I immediately read it to my mom. It meant so much to both of us. Thank you!

Got my copy here in little Rhode Island very quickly! Bringing it on a visit to my parents to share with them. (but it comes home with me!)
