Sometimes I make strips in order to paint one panel in particular. In this case, it was the last panel. I really love playing around with the effects that water can produce, so I wanted to try painting the perspective of one character looking up at another through the surface of water. I started the panel by looking at some reference pictures, but then abandoned that to come up with my own interpretation, which is a lot more fun for me. I'm slowly learning to take what I want from reference photos quickly and then putting them away so that I can focus on being creative.
I've added the tag "nestling" to all the episodes of this story to make it easier to isolate.
