The game is looking so gorgeous, I am once again gonna say I’m so I’m love with your art direction, everything feels so intentional, just as art should be. I always felt despite it being “mismatched”, the environment and paras match/mix perfectly and this video is a great demonstration of that imo. Back on topic, I love how gentle the adult is with the toddler, the way the toddler put her hands on her mother’s chest as she was picked up, the way she laughs to herself and looks around while watching tv, i could watch this again and again! and I’m very excited to see the children’s animations!

Hi! Later we might add this option, we discussed it. This way you could have the toddler kind of sitting at the table as well. The game will be translated in many languages. So far the following languages have been confirmed but more might be added: English, French, Simplified Chinese, Spanish - Latin America, Spanish - Spain, Portuguese - Brazil, Portuguese, German, Italian and Polish.

Aww this was really cute, the toddlers look so cute. The thing I want to see with toddlers, is toddlers playing and talking to each other, also child Para's playing and talking to the toddlers, we've never had either one really. I also hope that both the babies, toddlers and child Paras, will have more to them then just as someone for the adult Paras to have to take care of. Like I don't want them always throwing tantrums just to make playing with the adults more challenging, like as a added challenge to go with them working and doing other chores around the house. I want all the kids types to be their own persons, with their own goals, not just there to annoy their parents, lol! I want more sweet moments with the kids, then annoying ones, since with The Sims is always been more like they were just there to annoy the adults, it's usually not until they become teenagers that we have anything really to do with the kids in a family.

can't you get the adults to put and lift the child into/out of the highchair from behind, instead of from the front? it makes it more realistic. I enjoy following the development, and I really hope that the game will be translated into Danish as well.

Yes, I agree, as of now we tried to create a good base for toddlers before having to switch to other aspects of the game, but it is the goal to end up adding more and more interactions for them. Love the chewing idea! 🥰 The toddler phase will cover a few years, this is why we try to choose a good in between for animations every time. :)

Amazing animations, very adorable! Just a suggestion, but a nice pat on the head or a gesture from the parent when putting the toddler down on the floor/chair/bed would add connection between the child and parent. Keep up the great work.

Cute! I love family gameplay! From my perspective as a preschool teacher, some of the animations feel too calm or adult like. Like a toddler idling is still very goofy, bobbing their heads around, talking to themselves, making silly faces, whatever they can to gain a sensory experience. Understanding where on the toddler age range would help nail down those animations. Are Paralives toddlers more like 1 year olds or more like 3 year olds?

You've all done such a great job these are amazing I do wanna say if you end up doing an animation where a toddler refuses a hug I kindly ask that they don't get hugged anyway. Ive seen an animation in another game where the toddler pushes away the other adult and the adult makes them hug anyway. Therefore saying the adult's autonomy is more important than the toddlers it's upsetting every time and kids get upset sometimes and don't want to be hugged so if you do end up doing that animation I just asked that adult in that situation does step anyway beautiful job I'm so excited for this game the animations are so cute thank you so much for all the work that ya'll do

Yes I agree, lovely ideas by the way, taking notes of everything. ❤️ For the hand holding idea (that I love), this is too complicated technically to tackle right now, especially holding hands while walking. We would also have to make it work between Parafolks of every sizes. But I assure you we would all love to add this. 😊 Bedtime stories would definitely be feasable in the future!

These are soo cute, and can we also talk for a moment about how adorable their house is?? 😍😍 A couple small things I noticed: the toddler pick up animation looks a little funny, like the movement of the toddlers legs and there's a small bounce they do and the end that looks a little odd? It would be funny / cute if when you're getting them in and out of the highchair, their feet get stuck for a second. I swear that happens every time 🤣 Getting the toddler out of the bath, would it be possible to have the toddler stand up and hold onto the edge of the bath while the adult bends down to them? I think that would look really cute 🥰 Toddler tantrum - very good, would be excellent to have a variation where they bend down to the floor and go into "child's pose" on their knees with their head pressed to the floor. My son (2.5) does this when he is super upset, it's always a heartbreaker 🥲 Seriously just love this game though! The stairs animations must have been SO TRICKY to get right, well done!!

The toddler animations are adorable! I especially love the tickling animation, which is just so gorgeous. I do hope in future there will be some interactions between toddlers – like playing together, holding hands, fighting over toys(!) – but what we’ve got so far look amazing. As for kids animations, I would love to see kids playing together, or with toddlers/ babies. I also think it would be lovely to have kids holding the hands of older paras (teenagers/ adults) – and also maybe an animation for kids holding toddlers’ hands! One other animation that I would love (but I don’t know how feasible it is) is bedtime stories. I believe in the sims each child can be tucked into bed individually with a bedtime story, but personally as someone with siblings, some of my fondest memories are shared bedtime stories. I would love to see children curling up together on one of the beds to listen to a bedtime story!

Our programmers are actively working on the locators on which the Parafolks will have to go to to play their interaction with an item. While the toddler's legs did clip through he adult a little in one or two spots (which is fine, especially at this stage), the animation of sliding into the high chair was very clean. Will toddlers have variable height or will they remain close to the same to size to simplify animating in small spaces like the high chair? As for kids, I'd love to see older preadolescents also able to pick up toddlers from or put them into furniture like high chairs, playpens, and such and also be able to give them food and toys. Helping out with younger siblings is very common and I was doing all that by the middle of grade school. It would also be great if kids could read to/with other children/toddlers younger than them to practice or teach each other.

Would be nice if they didn't return to the "base position" when there's a qeue of interactions, for example when they hug and then comes a "tickle" interaction the mother could go from the hug to the tickle without standing up in between, that would be much more natural.

These are great the only thing I'd suggest is maybe some minor movement in the idle, like even if it's just their eyes looking around or something. It felt robotic. Idk if the idle is just a quick in between animation as a transition to others or not though. I'd love to see like 2 book reading animations for exmaple to having them sit in a lap on the floor while para is criss cross sitting, and one where they are reading to them in bed as like a bedtime routine type deal. none of this is needed of course just some thoughts!

Hi Alice & Lina, thank you for this video, it was absolutely adorable. There's a lot of softness to how Paras move, and it's particularly visible here. I remember thinking, a few animation-related updates ago, that maybe some movements lacked "weight" and effort, but after seeing this compilation, I feel like it's actually to their credit that the movements feel light, as it really works for the cozy aesthetics Paralives is going for. Even when the toddler rages, the movements do not make the player get out of the immersion into gentleness, and I'm really coming to appreciate that. Just because there's a negative emotion currently being dealt with, doesn't mean the game should make you feel something negative ; the more I watch your work, the more I have to admit this is fantastically part of the game's personality. In fact, I actually liked the display of negative emotions more. "Refusing food" and "Throwing a tantrum" in particular made me squeal with delight ; it was just the cutest thing. And I love how detailed the bath animation is, with the washing of specific body parts like the arm ; it's so great, I could watch these things play out for hours (and later this year, I will ! XD ) Thank you so much for this terrific work I am learning to appreciate properly.
