🎶 Special Reveal of 2 New Music Tracks!

Right now, there are so many exciting things happening across all aspects of the game, and I’ve been working on some cool surprises that I can’t wait to share with you soon! Today, I’ll be showing you some Paramaker and Build mode music that I composed a while ago, as well as talking about the current state of our soundtrack and the next steps before our Early Access release.
🎥In the video above, you first heard the Paramaker track “Paper Pet,” followed by the daytime version of the Build mode track “Golden Days.” So, without further ado, let’s dive into the details of these two tracks individually, as well as the soundtrack overall 🎶
Paper Pet 🐕
The name of this track comes from a little inside story from the studio. Every time I’ve had a meeting with Alex to talk about the music and sounds of the game, I always bring a sticky note with all the topics to discuss to stay organized. One day, Alex came into the studio and handed me an origami dog made out of sticky notes. He named it “Sticky the Dog.”

I found the gesture both funny and kind, so I decided to name the track after it. The track also has a lot of influence from the soundtrack of the game Donut County, as well as some LoFi and jazz elements. Halfway through, the piano plays a special theme, which is later combined with the first theme. I’m really happy with how this one turned out!
Golden Days 🌄
The concept behind this track is to embody the feeling of nostalgia—like a reminiscence of the old days. That’s why the climax of the song peaks not even halfway through, and then it never repeats. It’s meant to convey that things will never be the same twice in life, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be beautiful again. This track has a lot of country folk vibes, but I wanted to add a twist with different ambient elements!
This is the Logic Pro session of Golden Days. There’s a lot of layers as usual!
Next Steps 👣
The next step for the overall soundtrack is to revise all the songs based on the feedback I’ve accumulated over the past year. After that, I’ll send them to an engineer for mixing and mastering, which are essential steps in music production to make the tracks sound great. If we have the time, I’d also like to create the night versions of the Build mode tracks for Early Access.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg! As I mentioned, we’ve been preparing so many exciting things for the game, and I can’t wait to show you! I wish I could tell you more or even hint at it, but they’re all secrets!! AAAHHH! Which of the two tracks was your favorite? What would you like to see in a future post? Golden Days is so pretty. I love all the different sounds in it. But I think Paper Dog is my favorite. It just made me feel relaxed but also happy. I'm not sure if I can put it all into words but I love it 🥰

I think the high pitched notes, like at 0:27 or 0:34, are a bit jarring to hear, they may be a bit too strong or high pitched, but I think it's more about being too loud/strong. I would love even these parts if they were a bit softer. But other than that I love the song! And Golden Days really gives off that nostalgic feeling, and I love it way too much, and I can't wait to hear it in game. Especially can't wait to hear every song's night and day version!

My favorite song of the two featured is "Golden Days." And I'd love to see a sneak peek into Live Mode, a short (one-minute) video of what it looks like if I were playing in Live Mode right now. I don't mean individual animations or features, but how you interact with a family, for example. What would it look like if I were to start the game now and want to play (that's the thought behind my comment). And don't worry, I'm not expecting a hundred thousand options; after all, we're talking about an Early Access title and you're only a small team!!! The sound design or this game really blows me away. Not just the soundtrack but also the sounds and the ambient noises. I was checking out the ambiant noises video the other day and it took me right back to my childhood, with the noise of the fridge running, the dog barking in the distance, the sounds of cars and bikes during rush hour… all I missed was the distant sound of a neighbor mowing his lawn in summer or a random plane flying by. This game has so much soul!

Paper pet sounds really nice :) you can really feel that warm feeling of an origami pet dog given to you by a friend haha. Very cute touch. Golden Days is also very nice. Your songs all have personality which we can all feel. I swear to god, all of your music is so nice and healing. There is this slight "scent" of melancholy with positive notes, which sounds like hope. Just makes you feel better overall. Some of my favourites are little trinkets and buiding blocks, but honestly it's very difficult to choose. I believe music plays a big part in every medium: movies, games etc. So choosing the right person is important, and that Alex certainly did do. I can't wait to play the game with your music in it!

Hi Andrei! Thank you for the amazing post as always. Love getting to hear more of the soundtrack. Golden Days is very much my vibe and I could see me chilling to this and doing other stuff. It does everything you wanted it to. The nostalgia I feel listening to it is *chef's kiss*. I'd take an hour long version of it happily! As for stuff I'd like to see. Maybe a post on town/Para lore we can expect to get? Info and background of the Para's in the world when we load into the game? I'd love to see more of how the town is shaping up as well. Any gameplay we can see would be nice. But I just love waiting for Friday's to see more of the game.

There’s not a moment that feels out of place and the way my heart swells with each little flourish or unique moment in the song, or callbacks to earlier melodies, it’s truly indescribable.
