Thought Jordies was more the centre individualist left à la Jordan Peterson. Any collectivist ideology breaks the rules, left or right wing. Given the miracle that is the freedoms and standard of living in western democracies and despite the imperfections and corruptions abound, surely no one here aware of all sides of the 20th century would want to live in any other system or in any other time in history.

I think the point that Ali makes about Hitler and there being genocides in the past is correct. However, the reason why the Holocaust is different is because of the fact that it happened in such a modern European society, against other Europeans with sickening levels of efficiency, in a deliberate effort to exterminate multiple ethnic groups.

There was an Aboriginal genocide of our First Nations people in Gippsland as well. I know from historical accounts it happened everywhere. British colonisation history was horrendous What was done to those brought here as criminals. Then what the British did to our indigenous country persons.
