Fantastic up late and main pod with MysterE! It was refreshing to hear from another intelligent and knowledgeable person who you all had great rapport with (especially Mis and Jordan). You guys have been killing it since the Paul Keating pod so keep it up! P.s. Mis, if you'd like Taiwan tips let me know. It's one of the best places for eating I've ever been. I'd fly over every now and again when I lived in Asia and the food was a significant part of the motivation. Additionally, if you make it up north to Finland on your Euro trip let me know. I can show you around and take you to some great saunas!

One of the best episodes I have listened too. Only criticism was that audio for MysterE was hard to hear on the main pod. Have heard from Chomsky somewhat similar evaluation about different groups tackling different issues separately but it is all part of the same cause of capitalism. I guess the solution is we need to stand united. Join the union, join Labor and fight for change. Now checking out MysterE YouTube channel.

What a great pod - Ali suddenly became the one doing silly voices instinctively when he realised he was no longer the most intellectual voice in the room. Damn. Bring back Myster E in the future for sure. Also I found it funny how Mis copped it for eating out of the bin once on a pod but no one mentioned that Jordan once took a shit on the pod! Keep doing what you are doing guys.

I usually disagree with some of Ali's opinions but this pod really showed the difference between someone who has done nothing but study theory and someone who is well read and has had life experience and nuanced their views over time.

In response to suggesting I'm poor, i own a house and bought at 25, single earner for my family on a not huge mortgage, my income is well above average, but I detest the fact I need to work so much in order to survive and become comfortable within the system. I definitely dislike paying tax if it's being wasted, but if it goes to my kids schooling, healthcare, NDIS for people who need it etc, I understand where it's going. I will discuss with workmates about tax in that there's a lot of government subsidies our company receives which keeps us employed. But socially, you only need to look at the greens lines being used and eaten up by the gen z.

Hey gang (& Mystery, idk how to spell it), what do you guys think about how charismatic leaders factor into this revolutionary movements? For these movements to get steam, they normally get behind a figurehead that survives the test of time (ie. Communism & Marx, Socialism & Stalin, etc). Do you think these movements don't survive because they don't have the charismatic figurehead to lead it? Jordan B Peterson talked about it a little bit when he was talking "heroes" and shit. Mislav's Misadventure idea: send him to a Defence Force Recruiting testing session and see if he passes and what jobs he'd be eligible for. Bonus points if he enlists, completes basic training or is recommended for officer school. Recruits are allowed phones at certain times during recruit training - he can call in and it can be a new segment of the pod, Mislav's Updates from the Trenches.
