fact: chameleons don't have much of a sense of smell. it probably wouldn't be inaccurate to guess outis has at least once accidentally huffed too much paint thinner. they use baby wipes for clean-up now.

from the dialogue you've written for them i really like outis's speaking style, if they were real in the physical sense i think i'd love to hear them talk

HOOO THAT OPTICAL COLOUR MIXING ON THE PAINT.... NICE Speaking as someone who did a lot of painting in art school, I gotta say you captured the look and feel of the materials involved super well. It makes me want to reach out and grab the brush myself (and then get yelled at by outis for my incredible rudeness, I guess)
