It almost feels like Lola is acting like the (detached, dismissive) parent here and Jason is acting like the needy, approval-seeking child. In a way it's 'cute' but I wonder if his palpable desperation isn't putting her off further, or at least stirring up confusing feelings. It seems like Lola's trying to prove to herself that Jason doesn't actually care about her, because if he did, why didn't he reach out/why wasn't he there, etc.? I'm really interested to see how their relationship plays out and if they actually *can* have a relationship after everything.

in a couple of previous discussions abt jason, lola said they never knew him, and in this page they say he left when they were about 7-ish. does lola actually not remember him being around due to a combo of both young age/the way traumas usually handled, or do they just say so to avoid the subject???:0
