i think it really takes about 50 to 100 panels before a comic artist really gets used to drawing the characters, so... i'm looking forward to that level of comfort!
meanwhile, i'm not sure how i'll want to present little episodic interactions between these 3... i kind of don't want them to be relegated to sketch comics, since i bothered to design them all in color.
for now though, i had the idea about a taste-testing comic of their dynamic, i put too much effort in to want to back out or scrap it, now it's This.

i've reread this comic five or six times now... it's just so fun to come back to. the jokes are really well executed, i especially love the "if he knows what's good for him!" it made me laugh. and i love all the characterization, especially just in the goofy little things that Max says ("dodo give me the pho-pho" is my fave).

As a fairly touch-averse person, it's cool seeing a relationship featuring affectionate horseplay. I can understand what some people get out of it now.
