🕑 Added 2020-09-03 18:54:43 +0000 UTCfor the night lighting of this scene, i tried a new method of sketching. overall, i think it was worse to sketch it out as nighttime lighting as opposed to trying to color correct for contrast in the shading and coloring phase. it might still be useful for, say, more limited palette scenes in the dark. i don't know.
both of these characters are, at this point, operating heavily on information the readers should have extrapolated or at least entertained by now. it's really hard to trust the audience in that regard, even if it's satisfying to finally write some of these later scenes out. i'm interested to see the reaction to this page, because the overall reaction to the last page was somewhat unexpected.

i feel like it's going to sound like i'm being critical of interpretations of the text, haha. i expected the negative reaction to kim vs. to whittacker to be more even. the comments about how it wasn't relatable as a teenager were also surprising, since i didn't really frame the moment to be relatable, only understandable. somehow lupe received more character analysis than kim who got mostly "wow what an asshole" comments. i just really expected the chips to fall in places they didn't.
