4-Week Update on the Preserved Rose in Resin! (Resin Rose Aftershow)
🕑 Added 2024-03-08 17:04:10 +0000 UTCWe discover a crack in the glass!!!! We also cover:
- Why we didn't go with a Buy vs. DIY format at the beginning/thumbnail
- How we didn’t actually realize we couldn’t check on the rose til we put it in the pressure pot
- Our worries about leaving it too long or too short
- The debate of whether or not to redo the rose after we saw it was frosty/ghostly
- The yellow slow cure resin (and we found the new resin right after)
- Was CNC necessary and the mis-centering issue
- What would we have done differently?
- Less ice/water
- Not exposed stem base (use wire to suspend)
- Any other things we want to try preserving in resin?

I was randomly thinking about this video. While in Pascal the unsealed stem of the rose was pressurized. I think it is reasonable that this would have forced air and moisture into the pedals of the flower. Now making me wonder if a sealed rose would have had discernible less bubbles?

Is this the first time you poured resin into a glass container?
