ARE THE ABUSED MORE LIKELY TO BECOME ABUSERS THEMSELVES? - PODCAST #80
🕑 Added 2024-03-19 15:28:47 +0000 UTCChild star Drake Bell has recently spoken up about the sexual abuse he endured as a minor while working with Nickelodeon, receiving much praise and sympathy. However, has the public forgotten about his 2021 conviction for being a predator himself?
This podcast examines if victims of childhood sexual abuse are more likely to become offenders themselves later in life; is the cycle of abuse concept a myth or does it have some statistical footing?

Before even hitting play, when I saw him speaking on this matter, I was an absolute completedisgust, a few of my friends, and I were actually texting regarding the audacity that this person had to go on TV and speak about this when he did it to another person. Drake needs serious help, the fact he can sound so empathetic shows how good of an actor he is. HE IS THE DARK SIDE.

It would be interesting to know if there is also a correlation between internalization and externalization ( in context to SA ). However, forming a statistic like that would probably be very difficult.

The child actors should receive more help and more protection from abuse. No adult working in the entertainment industry should ever be alone with child actors.
