eyeball it, Excess chlorine just washes out during the filtration step so it doesn't matter if it's excess. I size the chlorine generator to assume perfect yield, any actual yield will always come in lower. The chemicals in the generator are cheap enough that it doesn't matter if i waste some of it.

Just another question: how do you know the oxydation with chlorine is done? You just eyeball it, or is there a specific criterion?

I could not readily reconcile the numbers on the analysis sticker on that manganese dioxide, particularly the figure 61.20 MnO. A little math shows this would be more or less the amount of MnO you would get if you reduced the MnO2 to MnO but that seems to be a slightly strange way to give the analysis.
