I've found an article on concentrating sulfuric acid in russian: http://chemistry-chemists.com/N5_2013/ChemistryAndChemists_5_2013-P1-1.html There are some hints on method you're trying to implement along with other approaches worth trying. In short, there is a way to lower temperature of decomposition of sodium pyrosulfate by adding MgSO4 so that reaction would take place as follows: Na2S2O7+MgSO4=Na2Mg(SO4)2+SO3.

Regarding acetic anhydride using pyrosulfate - might be worth trying to bubble acetic acid vapors through molten pyrosulfate. Although bisulfate byproduct would likely decompose at these temperatures to re-form pyrosulfate and water. Latter would likely decompose anhydride back to acid. Idea might still work if MP of pyrosulfate is lowered below 315, at which bisulfate decomposes. Also, I've read about method involving heating a mix of sodium pyrosulfate and acetate wetted with acetic acid or, preferably, acetic anhydride under inert atmosphere for some time followed by vacuum distillation of anhydride product.
