A suggestion for the 3rd line of the limerick: "Time prime directive". I love this episode, so much fun! I can see why they moved the guest star credits to the end for the current shows, reduces the spoiler effect.

The Shattered events didn't happen because the timeline was fixed. Janeway knows about the cider because it wasn't hidden very well and is in a public place!

Surely the JC barriers could not have been crossed without repercussions in this episode? If Janeway knew about the hidden cider in the final scene, then she remembered previous events. Chakotay obviously did. So it’s not an alternate timeline - or am I missing something?

As a J/C shipper I definitely feel like the loser for this episode. As much as it's lovely to see all the flirting and nice feelings between them, it's so frustrating given what happens in the series finale (C/7, UGH). I don't think I saw this episode when it first aired, only when binging the show in recent years. If I had seen it before the show was over, it would only have served to add more fuel to my hope that someday J/C would actually resolve their UST, which only would have made me EVEN MORE frustrated that not only did they not but somehow the writers thought it would absolutely make sense to throw C into the arms of 7 which was so gross to me then (since I was a young woman in my 20s and the Seven character was awfully close to my age and emotional maturity at the time) and honestly still is (since now I'm a woman in my 40s and although I know that plenty of May-Dec relationships are fine I don't feel that way about the C/7 that way at all). I have to fast forward through those scenes on the rare occasions when I decide I want to watch End Game.

One of my FAVORITE! This, Blink of an Eye and Timeless are top episodes. I like any "time issue" episode. Plus Chuckles is SO MUCH BETTER than Janeway. P.s. 7 of 9 was kidnapped by Janeway. She shouldn't have to respect her as the captain. She was literally stolen from where she wanted to be. Also, all of the Marquis are in the same boat. Sure, they should do their jobs, but they're not Star Fleet. They shouldn't have to follow Star Fleet rules.
