Would the red glitter sparkles be a good tactical choice since red light is harder to see at night? The Klingons being more militaristic would think battle first. Deploying with brighter transporters would give away their positions.

Just watched this episode on Paramount Plus. Very glad I got to watch this episode! Kira learns an important but painful lesson that not everyone shares her ideas in helping Bajor. While Tahna Los didn't wish to let Bajor recieve help from outsiders, such as the beneficial Federation - going so far as the threaten the lives of his very own people. Kira, on the other hand, wants to help her people without hurting them and is shown to have deep regrets over what she did as a Bajoran resistance fighter. I really liked the scene where Odo and Kira have a private conversation, with Odo inviting Kira to peel back the emotional layers she had developed during the Occupation. The exchange where Kira says,"I don't want to betray my people" and Odo reponds, "The most important thing you can do is to not betray yourself" was very insightful and it carries on through Kira's character development throughout the series. The final scene where Kira tells Tahna Los that the "old ways" of fighting and violence doesn't work anymore, with an unrepentant Tahna calling her a traitor was chillingly powerful - It shows that the real traitor is Tahna, when Kira is the recovering freedom fighter who truly fought for the good of Bajor. The wordless exchange between Commander Sisko and Kira before heading down together signifies Kira starting to see Commander Sisko with new eyes, realizing that she needs to trust her commanding officer and to not let her emotional baggage cause her to jump to conclusions and doubt her Starfleet colleagues on Deep Space Nine - A great symbolic start to Sisko and Kira's friendship as Captain and First Officer. Really liked Garak's introduction and how his spy skills will become very instrumental in the future seasons of DS9.

Good episode. Kira needed this moment. And it makes sense her former colleagues would have trouble giving up but that she sees a bigger picture. Excellent Kira ep.

Love that Robbie picked up on Garak’s vibe straight away. Bad hit was the obvious target as a spy master because he would run straight to Sisko (which Garak wanted). But Bashir was also an obvious target because he was cute from a romantic perspective. And Bashir’s ‘puppiness’ as a newbie is just too adorable for Garak to not be drawn too.
