The stick-pet was even an accessory with Quark’s official action figure!

Sean Palmertree

I laughed so hard.

Mary Ann B

The Ferengi episodes are my favorites to re-watch! 10 out of 10!!!

Eleanor Berton

Omg Garrett’s Zek laugh 😂

Loved hearing more about the famous rehearsals at Armin's house. It's fascinating to see just how many different approaches there are to acting. From this 'theater-like' method, to just chilling out on video games before, it says a lot about the varieties of Hoo-man minds that although it's all the same job, there's so so many effective ways to do it, it's just finding what works best for the individual person/group.

We only changed adding in the the host distinction. Nothing else has been changed. We have always had the name and description of the episode they are reviewing.

Eleanor Berton

I noticed the description has changed, and I’m so grateful!! Thank you so much for specifying what’s in the episode this week and which hosts there are! It’s very helpful to know that information straight off the bat and it helps me to deTermine whether I want to listen to it now, or save it for later. I appreciate you taking suggestions into consideration. 💕💕💕

Hi Mark, the Major tier used to be called Commander when we were doing Voyager reviews, but we decided to change it to Major in honor of moving to DS9. We're not trying to be accurate by staying in line with any specific ranking system.

Mark K

Just a small thought in keeping with Star Trek ranks. I would suggest changing the “Major” to “Commander” as this would fit with star fleet rankings. When I see major I don’t think Star Trek. Great review as always from our beloved star trek alumni. Quark is definitely underrated, I think he is the heart of deep space nine. I think the ratings were low from the fans because of the amazing Ferengi episodes to come and amazing episodes after season 1. I’m excited to continue this journey!

Catherine Green

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the word for foreigner in the language spoken in Ethiopia “Ferengi?” (Many apologies for not remembering the name of the language.)

Garrett

Our ratings are from our top 4 tiers, Majors, Captains, Admirals, and Prophets. Our Prophets make up the smallest portion of that group.

Harsh scores from the prophets again…. I am wondering if you guys like DS9!? 🥸

Tara

Pegging!! Lord 🤣

On the subject of breaking the 4th wall-Dr. McCoy did it once in TOS ep Babel when he told Kirk and Spock to shut up and then he looks right into the camera and says "I finally got the last word!"

Richard Knijnenburg

Good catch, the episode is "New Ground" (TNG 5x10) and it's called a Corvan gilvo.

Charlotte Marks

The little animal that Quark's petting in the "Godfather" scene was seen in an episode of TNG. I can't recall the name of the episode, but Worf's son Alexander attempts to save them from their cage when the Enterprise is attacked and there's a fire in the room.

Garrett

Thanks for sharing, Dean. So glad your little guy is doing well!

It's been a long road, getting from there to here...but I've finally caught up to this podcast. I started listening when my son was born 20 months ago. He was born with a heart condition that needed surgery, so for most of the first three months of his life (he had a complication that needed a second), I had to spend the nights away from him and my partner while they were in the hospital, with my mind thinking of all the worst possibilities. I needed something to focus my mind on, and The Delta Flyers was something I decided to try, and it helped immensely. It allowed my mind to relax. Some nights I listened to your podcast the entire time without sleeping, some nights I got a few hours of sleep, but it did eventually calm my mind enough so I could start having a more optimistic outlook on things. He's doing really well now, running around like crazy, climbing on everything, bossing us around with games he's made up. He still needs medicine, but it's something that should sort itself out over time. So I wanted to thank everyone involved in the podcast, you all really helped me out, and now I listen to the podcast because it's a wonderful podcast, and I love the addition of Armin and Terry.

In addition to your ethymology, the similar sounding negus is the title King of Kings in Ethiopia, most well known is Haile Selassie. I always thought that was what they had in mind.
