Find the guts! :) I have used this line almost exactly, more than once (by which I mean twice), and did it ever drive people insane. I think it's only good for fairly specific circumstances, though. I realized at some point that my conflict persona specifically towards the people I find most contemptible is modeled on Winn. For the rare occasions where someone irredeemably awful is trying to start a fight with me, Winn is who I become in response. It's so satisfying to be blasted with aggro aggression and just respond with a beautific smile and condescending forgiveness. Gives them nowhere to go. :)

Enjoyed the end of season wrap up. Now I understand a little of Robbie's criticisms. What has surprised me other than Terry hosting is the actors criticism of themselves. If I had to think about it I would say I figured they hired the best and it was second nature to them.

This is the best Keiko episode of DS9, and Rosalind Chao is brilliant going head-to-head with Louise Fletcher over important philosophical arguments. In every other episode, she’s there primarily as a wife/mother. On a totally different note, does Robbie know that in a few seasons there’s an episode called Our Man Bashir?

OK, so Neela appears in Duet as well as in this episode and is played by Robin Christopher there too. However, there is a similar character called Anara in The Forsaken, that was meant to be what became Neela. As per Memory Alpha: "Neela was originally supposed to appear in three episodes of the season, making her debut in "The Forsaken" with the aim of making the audience believe she was to be a new recurring character so as not to make it obvious she was the villain. Unfortunately, the producers decided that the actress playing Anara in that episode wasn't the right type to be an assassin and so the role was recast as Neela. ... A leftover reference to Anara can still be seen in the final episode in the form of the computer code O'Brien and Dax break, which spells out "A-N-A-R-A".

The best way to think about the claim that "science taught without a spiritual context is a philosophy" in the context of this episode might have been expressed by Sisko; when he notes that it is quite reasonable to understand the wormhole aliens as Prophets.
