As a Brit, I’m unfamiliar with the layout of LA. I was cross referencing some of the locations mentioned with the wildfire maps. Very sad, and such ironic timing 😢

(I hope Jason know this is tongue-in-cheek. His comments on directing always help me see the episode from a new angle and I like the nitpicking as it’s clearly done with love. Just don’t diss the shirt 😉)

I’m always fascinated by Jason Oaken’s comments (apologies if I spelled his name wrong) but I have to take issue with his negative comment on Riker’s outfit in Ménage a Troi. Either he was confusing it with Angel One or he meant to talk about the, er, questionable clothing choices for the women in that episode. Some of us who were teenagers in the 90s have very fond memories of that blue shirt and still need to defend it 30 + years later! (And yes this was the most important point I took from the entire podcast because let’s be honest, Meridian is one of the less interesting episodes. The best is definitely yet to come in S3 and (far) beyond!)

Good point!

Also, I'm glad all hosts are in agreement (as am I) that that was a very implausible romance. Lustful, heck yeah, but not believable that Dax would leave her whole life for him. It could have been a very powerful ending if she'd decided not to stay instead of being forced not to stay.

Serious question here: if the handsome dude was going to be able to leave the planet for Jadzia, why couldn't all 30 people leave? I get that it can be tough to leave your home and community, but it wasn't even their homeworld, they just got stranded there! Side note: hard to listen to the intro banter about SoCal, which obviously was recorded before the fires. I hope everyone is okay. 💔

That it was. Tough to get through.

As much as I was uncomfortable with Quark’s actions, I thought the B story was prescient with today’s use of deepfakes for similar purposes.

This is certainly the season where everything came together for DS9!

Anyone else excited that pretty much the rest of season 3 is strong, besides the Bashir birthday episode it’s all fun from here till season 4!

I came on here to write that ⬆️ I LOVE ‘Subspace Rapsody’ and my kids do too. We must have watched it 20 times already. “Why are we singing?!” 🎵
Robert Allen Stiffler
The song is you guys were talking about is by the music group Smashmouth. Song is called " Walkin on the sun" 🌞
Lori White
Strange new worlds musical episode is great!
Deth
This was one of the most boring episodes of ds9

SPOILER ALERT: Too bad for Meridian that next time they appear they will be in the tender care of The Dominion.
