I think something that was missed by our pod cast hosts was the reason that Moogie treated Rom different, and wanted to do things for him she wouldn’t for Quark is because he treated her with respect, I didn’t find anything she did for him odd, it’s because Rom is a great son.

I thought there were some really interesting insights from Armin and his feelings on the episode really made me think more about an episode I've never been that fond of. I do agree the whole naked thing doesn't help the exploration of sexism though. Conversely does a lighthearted comedy scene like O'Brien and Bashir breaking into Quark's really need to be dissected in that way. The usual complaint is that the Ferengi are too often comedy relief so isn't it a nice change when the Starfleet characters take that role instead.

My mom chose to be called “Moogie” instead of “Grandma.” She’s never watched an episode of DS9. 😂 But she would totally have been like Quark’s mom!

The lock-breaking scene helps set up Rom as an engineering savant, when it's referred to as one of his super "unbreakable" locks. Down the line, this becomes increasingly important.
