I've been frustrated with dovetail layout tools for a long time. Most of the layout gauges out there are cheap and flimsy, or they're expensive and they only do one thing. And I get irritated switching back and forth between an angle gauge and a square.
I've often thought: "Why can't the square and the gauge just be one tool?"
So, I did something about it. Today, we're launching the Compass Rose Dovetail Square: a layout gauge and precision try-square in a single tool. This idea has been tried before, but the results have been a little clumsy. I think our square is elegant and useful.

Yes I have but nothing they do seems to help. I believe its connected to Youtube but sending them a complaint about it has produced no response. It’s compounded by the fact I am now in Portugal and calling them is a bit more complicated. I am going to try and call them another way and if I get results I will let all know. My fear of just quitting and resigning up is I may lose the forum as well and I love the forum!

Super excited about this tool, it looks like it’s going to be great even just as a regular square for small marks and I love a multi tasker. I’ve also been wondering for a while what happened to the router plane kit? I’d really love one but it’s not even listed as out of stock.

Putting the angle-guide inside the square is a *great* design feature. - that really makes it a 2-in-1 tool that.
