With the illusions rapidly fading, the trio makes a desperate attempt to escape. They manage to make it out of the town, but are unable to elude Marcy and Kalzar. With Marcy and Kalzar both demanding that Minerva and Eris come willingly or they force them to do so, a battle ensues, causing Minerva to learn that the awakened dragon blood enhanced more than just her body.
That New Shoe Smell
Mel intervenes and lures Marci and Kalzar away so that the party can quietly hitch a ride out of town. Back on the road, Eris and Minerva make up and take the opportunity to mess around with the illusions before they fade.
