Feedback Requested - ReShade Tutorial Series
🕑 Added 2021-06-17 00:47:42 +0000 UTCI'm putting together a list of ReShade tutorials I want to write to help people with some common issues, and also to help people understand ReShade a little bit better. I'd love your feedback on what you'd like to see covered if possible.
So far, for example, I've got planned things like:
- What are .fxh files?
- Making and using LUTs/MultiLUTs
- What are shader packs and which should you use?
- The four main types of shaders and how to use them (inc. load order and why it matters)
Suggestions could include anything from how to troubleshoot certain issues, to how to use specific individual shaders, as well as broader 'what the heck is ReShade and how does it work' topics. I'm sure there are plenty of things you can think of that I haven't.
I'm not a top tier boss level expert when it comes to ReShade, but I've picked up a fair few things over the past decade of using ENBs, then SweetFX, and then ReShade since its inception, and I want to pass that on if I can.
And a reminder you can pop on over to the ReShade help channel of my discord server if you ever have any problems or questions, or just want to talk nerdily about ReShade!

Hi! In 4.x the box has moved. You need to click on 'Edit Global Preprocessor Definitions' which is just below the main shader list in the ReShade menu. There you'll find a line that says RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED and it sounds like it'll have a 1 after it. Change that to a 0 and it should be fixed for you!

Why. with the latest reshade (4.9.1 I think) are my sims all in shadows when MXAO is selected? I know you wrote about this previously 2 years ago, but the 'box' we use to make edits in is no longer there.

Do you mean how to install and use different presets, or how to start creating your own? That sort of thing?

A very, very basic tutorial would be very helpful to me. I have it installed and now have NO idea what to do next.
