FEATURE WALL ADD-ON FOR PLASTER WALLS

That's what happened when I saw a photo of a painted arch, and it reminded me of how excited I was when the Courtyard Oasis kit was announced, with its gorgeous arch in exactly the same colours I'd just used for my Dream Pop palette. Sadly, none of that was actually included in the kit, and this isn't exactly a reproduction (not even slightly), but it's something, right?
This comes in both Dream Pop as well as Image Spectra, to match the plaster walls I've already recoloured in both palettes (1, 2). You get two options for each colour palette: the first is a coloured arch against a white background, and the second is the coloured background with a white arch.
The arch spreads across multiple tiles. It spreads across more for tall walls, fewer for medium, and even fewer again for small, because I scaled the arch to roughly take up the same proportion of wall height in each case.
Two things of note:
- because of the way multi-tile murals work in TS4 you can't choose where the arch places - it starts at a pre-configured spot for each lot, and you just have to try to make it work as best you can - it's all about compromise
- small texture sizes are the enemy of curves - as such the small and medium wall heights feature some delightful fuzzy aliasing along the curve (far less noticeable on tall wall heights because of the larger texture, which is double the others) - it's not too noticeable, as long as you don't push the camera right in and go looking for it, but it's not anywhere near as smooth and lovely as I would have liked - such are the drawbacks of trying to compromise (there's that word again) on texture size.
