I absolutely feel both of these chapters are essential for showing a rapid, rapid investment on Ashley's part in beginning the process of stepping out, and way from Jacob. I don't know how much humiliation will be factored in, I don't know if Jacob will ever even find out. It's hard to say, but as I have thought before, especially with Carlos' repeated need for her, I don't think he will be willing to share forever.
