There was so much scope for both,the foundations had been beautifully laid,I was waiting for the chapter where Carlos screws Ashley from behind while she's professing her love to Jacob over the phone.But Jacob discovers them both and BOOM the story seems over.I'm crushingly disappointed. Eddie's still an excellent writer though.

The fact that he’s involved with a married student of his does not speak well to his morals or ethics. These are very important aspects to the art of self-defense. Control of your mind and body are central themes in most self defense disciplines. The fact that he can’t demonstrate that shows he’s really just a poser. I can’t blame him though, it’s really all on her for getting involved in the first place.
