Matrix "Live" Ep 11 (Sep 22)
🕑 Added 2017-09-22 16:55:03 +0000 UTC Funding:- No new corp sponsors to announce, but lots more individual patreons; welcome and thank you!! The money is literally going straight to paying the team right now, so thank you.
- Much drama in the cryptocurrency space with folks trying to pick between Riot & Rocket.Chat. A bunch of folks have gone to Rocket.Chat, but we're hoping the remainder will go to Riot.
- Librem5 project is picking up thanks to partnership with KDE; Matthew's been working on a PoC
Synapse:
- We added spam filtering & invite filtering; need to do a new release.
Dendrite:
- Lot more work happening; currently going through making all the tests pass on sytest, and filling in the final gaps.
- Full invite support has now landed in addition to the 3PID invites which landed last week.
- Next up is to actually federate with Matrix HQ which should happen next week (need to support some of the broken bits of HQ)
Riot/Web
- Released 0.12.4 (and .5 and .6) with all the perf work, as well as big contribs from Michael (devtools) and Travis (ignoring users!)
- Next up, groups! It's almost all working; hopefully should land stuff next week. We'll be setting up the supporters group next week too.
Riot mobile:
- Lots of work on widgets and iOS11
Widgets:
- Lots of maintenance work after the launch, and working on the next gen of widgets!

Hi Chris - this would be awesome! Best way to proceed is to ping @matthew:matrix.org on Matrix via Riot or similar :)
Chris Tse from Cardstack here. We'd love to help on the UI/UX front. Our team is from the Ember community, and we are already working on a project to use Matrix as a real-time messaging bus to reduce a latency in a private ledger project based on Hyperledger Sawtooth.
