A Blues Brothers reference? I'm on the right channel!

Xander to the recue, Xander and Angel the double act you didn't know you needed lol

Grace

Great reaction! Love this finale. THANK YOU. :D

Buffys Dress is highly symbolic, she is the lamb to the slaughter, a 'pure' sacrifice. White is often associated with a sacrifice of purity.

There's a podcast called Buffering the Vampire Slayer that goes through every episode, and one of the hosts writes and performs a song for each episode at the end. And all the songs are on Spotify (each season as its own album). I highly recommend listening to the songs for season 1 if you so desire. The one for this episode is very evocative and makes use of the "It wasn't our world anymore" line. https://open.spotify.com/album/2gZqmPoQ4KQDGjjySohI0d?si=scd-dtUUQI6MEbY99SexSQ

I just re-watched it recently. It’s so campy, but the dialogue is great. The guy playing Merrick is also president snow from hunger games. Only just noticed.

So, I would LOVE for you to watch the original buffy movie as a culmination to season 1. About halfway through you see her in the white dress with leather jacket in a highschool dance. Thats VERY similar to one of the movie scenes. please please pleaseeeee drop the movie. i want it more than fantastic beasts and such now! i'm on your buffy trip!

Great episode, I forgot how good it was. The dialogue is particularly good in this one. I’m assuming joss whedon will have been responsible for that. Solid 8.4/10 Not sure if you understood the joke at the beginning? The master is yelling and you’re supposed to think it’s something to do with the hell mouth opening. Then he says “what do you think, 5.1?” Referring to the Richter scale. Basically, it turns out it was just a regular earthquake. Also, to become a vampire, you have to drink the Vampire’s blood as well. A vampire bite itself doesn’t do anything .

I should clarify, that wasn't a dig at all towards little people. Their bodies are fully formed adults no matter the stature. But an actual child's body is not mature in that respect.

10/10 for Buffy turning Xandern down without beeing an ass about it but also without making him hopes. 02/10 for Xander's CPR. With those wimpy chest compressions Buffy definitely should have sayed dead🙈😅

great reaction as always Vegie! Now that season one is over we can get into the really good bits. :) Don't get me wrong, Season 1 is good, but not nearly as good as the rest of the series. :)

An 8.5. Cordelia was just great in this episode. She didn't have to help and wasn't even really involved but she chose to get involved and help. Then she drove straight into the school, which was boss. I've never seen Star Trek so only get the super obvious references. People get confused that I've not seen it and say, "But, you're a nerd." Yes, nerd, not geek. Star Wars, not Star Trek. For earthquakes, you're supposed to get under a piece of sturdy furniture. They used to say to get in a doorway because doorways used to be stronger than the rest of a wall. In reality, most of us from earthquake prone areas feel the earthquake, determine how big and what kind it is, consider our surroundings, and usually decide to stay put. If you're outside, you're supposed to stay outside and just not be near things that might fall on you. Just don't be under or on a bridge, under or on a freeway, in or around an unreinforced brick building, and a few other things.

Woot! End of season! Buffy has much darker episodes than this, but they are mixed in with light, funny episodes as well. It was originally aired in the evenings, IIRC, not daytime. There were definitely parts of the show where my mother (a wuss when it came to horror) couldn't handle it and would look away, LOL! So yes, there *is* a name for Buffy's group (Slayerettes was mentioned as Rashell said, but there is another name, too), and at some point (I don't remember what season) it is said, so I won't spoil that for you. The rules of Vampire invitation will also be explained more clearly in later episodes. In fact, I think next season is when they go into a bit more detail on that. Yep, Cordelia was indeed with them when they agreed to head on to The Bronze at the end! :) Colin is a Vampire, yes, and he won't age. In most lore I've encountered, they don't make child Vampires usually for that reason. They aren't big/strong enough to do much hunting on their own, and as the years go on, their emotional age tends to age relatively normally, but they are forever trapped inside a child's body. Imagine having the emotions, thoughts, and wants of an adult without the body to go along with it!
