Buffy Fridays! Season 3 Episode 4 First Time Reaction!

if anything Willow is far more useless than Xander apart from the odd bit of hacking

Thom Purdy

I wouldn't say that Xander is useless. He has saved Giles' life once(The Puppet Show) and the world twice!(Prophecy Girl and Innocence).

Haha that is amazing, Christa! There are only 6 episodes, so shouldn't take too long! XD (It is great, but probably good it was a short series XD)

OMG, Veggie!! I just saw Garth M's Darkplace for the first time like two days before I watched this! I can't believe I finally got one of your British comedy references XD I'll have to keep watching for the monkey episode. haha I gotta say I liked this episode for all the monster on monster fights. Not just slayer v. monster as usual but werewolf v. Hyde AND vampire v. Hyde. So awesome. And great reaction <3

Diego Zenhäusern

I mean, to me his reaction totaly felt like saying that you're okay when you'reabsolutely not. So it felt realistic🤔. But I guess I'll have to see whetherthe show does anything more with him or whether this actually was supposed to "resolve" the issue🤔

Garry (Not Jerry)

WOKE UP!?😆

Here's another question: since his return Angel has been living bestially, running wild, right? So where did he get trousers from and how was he able to put them on adeptly!?

Over here for the orange Jelly! This episode is definitely hard to watch, but I think so important not to skip unless you really can't stand to watch it at all because it's so triggering. I highly recommend Merlin for more Tony Head, although his character is so very un-Giles, he is great in that.

Toe Knee Head.... Holy friggen Veggie..... :D

It's so interesting to me what triggers certain people, for instance I was abused (more psychologically though) my whole childhood/teenage years, and I have PTSD, and episodes of a tv show would never trigger me. I just know it's not real, even though there totally are people like this. I could hear a story like this on the radio though, and start crying. It is sad that Debbie died. I feel even worse for Scott though, he just lost his 2 best friends. I lost my 2 only friends when I was 18, and not in a natural way, hence my own trauma. The only positive relationships I had. His reaction of being a little sad but all "I'll be ok" is not realistic to me.

The counselor smoking in the school gets my goat. Smoking in a school would have been illegal at that time in CA, and it was not socially acceptable for it to really be seen as OK. This episode is probably a 5/10 for me. Buffy is obnoxious, but we all know how I feel about her. The storyline does have some issues, but I think it's too much of a topic to do justice to in a single episode, especially with everything else going on. As someone who was in an abusive marriage, this doesn't trigger me at all, but I'm sure it does some people. Media portrayals of abuse never do, but I think it's because they never come at it from the angle that affected me. They usually come at it from the angle of the victim thinking it's her (almost always a female) fault and that she needs to do things to make it change or even to comfort the man (almost always a man). With me, it was just because I grew up in an abusive home and thought that it was normal. Angel was my favorite character (for doing the deed), and the card catalogue is a close second (I love me a good card catalogue).

Not a favorite episode, but it's always interesting to watch these things from the eyes of a new viewer like yourself :)  Usually the show takes classic teenage tropes and spins them on their head, but the writers were a little on the nose with the monster metaphor this time IMO.  I enjoy the scene where Oz hulks out and fights the boyfriend. It's nice to have Angel back in the mix. But still, I don't love the abuse storyline.   RIP to the nice guidance counselor Platt, and Debby. They deserved better.
