I'm not sure it was mentioned yet, but 4 people in Act One have different roles in Act Two. It can be confusing at first. Daveed Diggs played the Marquis de Lafayette in Act 1 and plays Thomas Jefferson in Act 2. Anthony Ramos played John Laurens in Act 1 and plays Phillip Hamilton in Act 2. Okieriete Onaodowan played Hercules Mulligan in Act 1 and plays James Madison in Act 2. & Jasmine Jones played Peggy Schuylar in Act 1 and plays Maria Reynolds in Act 2.

It’d be cool if you check out some of these guys’ solo stuff after you finish Hamilton! “Taking Off” by Clipping really shows off Daveed’s (Lafayette’s) speed and eloquence imho. Pippa Soo (Eliza) singing “No One Else” from “The Great Comet” live is incredible The 3 ladies who portray the Schuyler sisters did a cover of “The Longest Time” together

The opening number is what Lin performed at The White House in 2009. It was the only song that was ready. Yes, there are lots of intentional Easter eggs, reference to Broadway classics AND to rap foundations. Direct inspiration from specific rappers to each character. You might want to turn on the captions for Act Two, it continues to be wordy.

Have you seen Come From Away pro shot? It’s on AppleTV I had never heard of it before watching but I really enjoyed it . Apparently they were going to make it a feature film but Covid happened and they did a pro shot with the original cast instead

Finally have a chance to watch this. I love Hamilton so much and I’m so glad you are enjoying it. A bit of trivia just in case you’re not aware, the role of Alexander Hamilton is being played by Lin-Manuel Miranda himself. The man who wrote Hamilton Edit I think you do know since you just referenced him by name. Probably should have waited till the end of the video to comment

Other musical: Next to Normal. There IS a proshot (very recent), and it’s so, so much better than the original cast (in terms of conveying the story effectively). An upcoming proshot that I want to recommend ahead of time is Frozen, but HEAR ME OUT — I get it. It’s Frozen. 🙄But the stage musical is so, so much better than the movie. I’ll never watch the first movie again once the proshot comes out (sometime before the end of the year).

Probably not a popular opinion but after waiting 2 years to see this on Broadway (seen over 50), for the first time ever, I walked out at intermission. My brain, my ears, my Musical Context affinity just can't comprehend RAP. I just didn't get it. Then again, I was compairing to Les Miserables, Wicked, Jessie Mueller's Waitress, and Phantom, etc. My bad.
