A Clockwork Diaper - Part 5 (Finale)

“Thanks,” she mumbled, as he put the vehicle in park. “Do you mind waiting for me?”
“Sure,” he said, winking. “Maybe we can pick up where we left off?”
Right. An ally in her corner would have been too much to hope for; Ashley would have to settle for a horny mercenary. Pushing open the car door, she glanced up and down the sidewalk, mindful of any onlookers who might notice her sagging diaper and complete lack of pants.
Waddling up the sidewalk, she rapped on Ms. Iron’s door, waiting for an answer.
Danielle answered a moment later. “Ashley–oh dear. What happened?”
Ashley told her, the whole unabridged production. She was beyond the point of feeling shame about her attempt to cheat with Amelia’s boyfriend, she just wanted to get cleaned up and let the day end.
While she told the tale, Danielle retrieved her standard bottle of pedialyte and even produced an energy bar to fill Ashley’s hungry belly. Ashley consumed both ravenously, downing the drink in a single chug.
“Let’s get you changed,” Ms. Irons said, when she was done.
“That’s all you’ve got to say?”
“You didn’t break any serious laws, not intentionally, certainly not anything you could be charged with,” Danielle said. “When I saw the contingency had kicked in, I grew worried, but there’s not really anything else to do.”
“Yeah…” Ashley looked down at her uncovered legs, focusing on her exposed diaper. “Why does the conditioning do that?”
“Makes you easy to spot in a crowd, if you’ve decided to run for it and give up on your parole,” Danielle explained. “That’s the official reason. If you haven’t tried yet, I’ll just clear up, you also can’t wear a dress, a skirt, overalls, or any other article of clothing designed to cover below the waist.”
The official reason.
She waddled to Danielle’s changing table, clambered up, and laid back. “Just get it over with.”
Danielle did.
Diaper still in full view, Ashley shuffled back out to Philip’s car. “Hey.”
“Hey,” he replied. “I just texted my mom, she said it’s okay to have a guest over. So you can come back if you need a place to sleep.”
“Thanks, but Amelia will just torture me more if I don’t come back to the dorm and bring her the fast food she asked for. I’d just be putting off the inevitable.”
“Okay. What’s the deal with your pants?”
“It’s part of the whole conditioning thing,” Ashley admitted, raising her hands to do airquotes. “Because I was ‘trespassing’ for so long, this kicked in. I can’t wear pants or a dress or a skirt, or anything that’s designed to cover me up. It should wear off in a couple days.”
He pursed his lips. “Mind if I swing by my place before we get food?”
Ashley initially worried that the delay might upset Amelia, but after a moment of consideration she nodded. Amelia didn’t know that Ashley had a ride, and wouldn’t be expecting her for a while. “Sure, whatever.”
She tried to think of a plan while he drove, but options didn’t seem to be presenting themselves. She had no leverage over Amelia, and Amelia still had unlimited leverage over her–not to mention, Ms. Irons had explicitly said that she couldn’t help with the roommate dispute.
Frustrated, she put her mind off the subject and took out her phone, killing time by checking twitter. It didn’t help.
Arriving at Philip’s home, he put the car in park. “Be right back, just need to grab something.”
She nodded, not really paying attention when he left.
A minute later, he returned, got in the drivers seat, and tossed a bundle of fabric into her lap. “Try that on.”
“What is it?” she asked.
“One of my mom’s shirts,” Philip said. “She’s a bit big, and you’re a bit small, so I thought it might… y’know. Help.”
She unfolded the T-shirt. A cartoon image of a glass bottle with the caption, ‘It’s wine-o-clock somewhere’ assaulted Ashley with its sheer tackiness, but she unbuckled and slipped it on over her other shirt anyways, pulling it down. The T was so large, it came down almost to her knees, covering up her diaper, but she felt no compulsion to remove it.
“Oh,” she said. “Wow. How’d you know that’d work?”
“A guess,” Philip admitted. “Technically, it’s not an article of clothing designed to cover you below the waist.”
“Good thinking,” Ashley said.
He was, technically, right. And that got her mind working on ideas. While Philip drove to McDonalds and pulled into the line, which extended out onto the street, she started reading on her phone.
First, she needed a better understanding of her conditioning. In no world would she be caught with her pants down again, surprised by how it worked. What it forced her to do, what she couldn't do, what the rules allowed her to do. Her parole officer, she knew, couldn’t help her with any bullying. More pointedly, she couldn’t use any teasing, harassment, or insults as a result of her conditioning as a reason to take action against someone.
While she read up, she also found another detail she’d missed. The conditioning process she’d gone through cost half a million dollars, plus ongoing maintenance fees, paid to an R&D company called ‘LabD’ that’d developed the conditioning. They’d, apparently, pitched quite a few novel–and extremely expensive–alternative punishments to jail time, and this one had finally been picked up.
Ashley wasn’t a test subject, she was a check to be cashed.
She placed Amelia’s order, then moved onto her next piece of research.
Amelia. Her roommate. Ashley needed to know everything she could about her.
With those three steps done, she knew what she had to do.
Philip dropped her off at the dorm, and she waddled inside, tugging down at the edges of her shirt to make sure her diaper was covered.
With the bag of fast food in hand, she entered their room, holding it up for Amelia. “Here.”
She tossed it over, and Amelia caught the paper sack, checking the contents. “Good girl. What’re you wearing?”
“A t-shirt. Why did you steal my wallet?” Ashley set down her ‘diaper bag’, heart racing. She needed this conversation to go right.
“Didn’t you see my note?” Amelia sneered. “I wanted to make you walk.”
“Right, uh-huh.” Ashley walked over to her desk, spinning around the chair to face Amelia while she sat. “Give it back.”
“Ah, ah, that’s not how you ask,” Amelia t’sked. “Someone’s asking to go to bed in a soggy diaper.”
Ashley narrowed her eyes. “I’m asking for my wallet back. It’s my property, so hand it over.”
“Maybe tomorrow.” Amelia smirked, leaning back to start some music on her computer.
Before she could, Ashley said, “I know why you hate convicts so much.”
Amelia hesitated, her hand hovering over the space bar. “You read about my uncle, then?”
“No.” Ashley said. “That’s not it. You don’t have some sort of tragic backstory that justifies being a bitch, you’re just an asshole. You want someone who it’s socially acceptable to bully, and you picked me.”
Amelia hesitated, caught off guard by the defiance. Ashley wanted to avoid being sent into another cramping fit, and didn’t want to push Amelia too far, but this might be okay. Off center was good.
“You know what I learned today?” Ashley asked.
“What? How to fill your diapers?” Amelia taunted, but her sneer had lost its venom. She didn’t know how to respond to Ashley’s new confidence.
“I learned you’re here on a scholarship, for one,” Ashley said. “And I learned exactly what my conditioning does and doesn’t allow me to do. And it does allow me to press charges against people who steal from me–especially people who assault me first.”
Amelia blinked. “I didn’t assault–”
“You caused me physical distress. When dealing with assault, you take your victims as you find them, and you knew the state I’d be in once you alleged that I was trespassing,” Ashley said. “Robbery with an assault charge–oh, and technically, you were trespassing as much as I was. Want to find out what that all adds up to in court?”
Amelia narrowed her eyes. “The charges would never stick.”
“I’ve got you admitting to the robbery on tape,” Ashley said, bending over to her diaper bag. She took out her phone and raised it, so Amelia could see the recording screen. “We’re in a one-party consent state, so I didn’t need your consent to record this conversation. More to the point–are you willing to gamble your scholarships on this? Or are you going to back down, and do what I say for once?”
Swallowing, Amelia said, “That’s blackmail.”
“It is,” Ashley admitted. She could feel her diaper growing wet even as she said it, but she didn’t care. She’d get it changed later. “So, here’s what it’s going to be. You back down. You don’t even say a word to me for as long as we’re roommates. You don’t trigger my conditioning, you don’t ask me to do anything, you leave me alone, and I never have to tell anyone how you incapacitated me so you could steal my wallet.”
Amelia glowered. For a moment, Ashley thought she’d taken things too far, and that Amelia would lash out rather than capitulate.
Then, Amelia nodded her head. “Fine.”
The blackmail made Ashley cringe and wince as a cramp racked her, but her body had thoroughly emptied itself earlier, and she had nothing to expel into her diaper.
She stuck out her hand. “Wallet.”
Digging in her purse, Amelia tossed the wallet at Ashley. “Whatever else, you’re still a con. It doesn’t matter what you hold over my head, you’ve still got to live with that.”
“Right, okay.” Ashley smirked. “One more thing.”
…
Amelia swallowed, her face flushed bright red. “You can’t make me do this.”
Wrinkling her nose, Ashley grinned wickedly. “No, but I can call my lawyer. Start marching, or I pick up the phone.”
Unlike Ashley, Amelia hadn’t even been given the courtesy of a diaper. She’d wet her jeans and filled up her panties, with nothing to contain the stains, or the smell.
Ashley grinned, while her roommate in ruined pants pushed open the dorm room door. “I’m going to kill you for this,” she muttered, blushing horribly as she began walking down the hall to the bathroom. At this time in the evening, plenty of people were out and about, looky-lous and observers who snickered at the girl who’d filled her pants.
Ashley watched her go, relishing her new dominance over her roommate.
This year wouldn’t be so bad after all.

And this is why conditioning like this would never work in real life (aside from the fact that no one would stand for it because it's literally more cruel than the death penalty). The more you hurt someone the more hungry for vengeance they become. If this is what she does to Amelia, imagine what will happen to the people who invented the conditioning once it wears off.
