Reading this chapter again... the answer to why animals don't have auras (but divine animals can) and respond strangely to them is linked to why spiritual hearts are named such and how spiritual hearts are formed. I think Rain already has a spiritual heart and I think spiritual hearts are where animals store and use HE. We know Rain has been less affected by auras since his first time fighting the defiled in the north, so maybe he's had a quasi-spiritual heart even then. We know Rain has been using known body strengthening techniques for years, including three years before he fought the defiled in the north. Body strengthening is known to infuse HE into the body but common thought is that since it takes animals '1,000 years' to form a heart it is a waste of time for martial warriors who have life spans of 120 ish years, but the Abbot’s new information suggests that it can take much less time than 1,000 year and that efficient HE absorption is the limiting factor. Since his fall at Sinjui Rain has become immune to auras, at Luo-Luo first concert Rain was unable to feel Mila et al's new auras. Perhaps this is an indication that his spiritual heart, at some point, moved from quasi to full spiritual heart status.

pong pong has aura and a natal palace of his own.

I wonder if the fact that only humans can form Aura and the mind is their weapon means that Aura is some sort of indication that the brain is on the way of becoming human spiritual heart

This whole last little while has been about options. Rain has several theories on how he MIGHT fix himself, but he has no real knowledge on how to go about it. This is him stumbling around in the dark and hoping he trips over an answer, because as much as he likes to call himself a modern man of science, he's actually an idiot who couldn't science his ass out of his pants.

So basically if Rain can succ in enough heavenly energy he'll spontaneously form a spiritual heart in his body? It makes sense that no one has done it before though if that's the case. No one else can pull in pure heavenly energy like he can they all have to get it through plants and stuff which would be exponentially slower. Based on how many specters he had to consume I'm gonna say a human body's threshold for forming a heart has to be absolutely massive so it would be impossible for another person. Which begs the obvious question, is forming a spiritual heart the key to a human being achieving divinity? It would make sense forming a heart is something animals can do that people cant and animals are the only ones to reach divinity up to this point. Is forming his heart going to allow Rain to become the first ancestral human? Is he going to start cultivating like animals do once he forms it?

Prinny Knight

He already knows, mentioned a few chaps back. He just doesn't know how to use it, can't reach balance, can't enter into his natal palace. It's like having a billion dollars, but it's in a safe you have no key to and the safe is hidden who knows where. -dood-

How long till he realises he has a source of heavenly energy from the specters, once he uses that he can make himself a spiritual heart with the energy, plus he has the poop plants for extra spiritual energy. Then once he has a heart he can cultivate right? Though the last part wasn't entirely clear about the animals Aura? as Pong pong has the aura ?

We all love Rain and his monologue, but this feel its been dragging too long. At this point, I feel Rain should have found the path to rehabilitate himself.. it likes, the world move, but Rain is stuck.

Prinny Knight

I do enjoy the indepth thought process of himself and guests, a massive amount of character development is being layed out both left and right.......just none going up and by the gods the horizon seems to be endless -dood-

Moonspike

Honestly this is some of the best character driven story progression I've seen and I love.

The other chapters are action and movement. Rain chapters are discussion and theory. It's not super fun, but it's mostly about rehashing all the available info and slowly piecing things together.

Orion Dye

Meh, it seems like he’s stumbling because he is stumbling. Mostly he has no plan, no goal other than regain his power, and no path towards that goal. Personally I like it like this. Too many stories always have a path laid out to accomplish the characters goal. Not enough explore what goes through a characters mind when there is no clear path or the goal is seemingly impossible.

I agree, the Rain chapters seem to be stumbling through the story with very little progression, probably just me wanting him to be superman again but it's still an opinion.

ThePolarParadox

Meanwhile, a rebellion starts to form over their injured hero. 😏

Archit Goel

Somehow Rains chapters seem very very slow. I love reading all your other POVs....they are super fun. But Rain seems to be dragging on.
