Not gonna lie, if the Mother is real and Rain is her chosen son then I agree with Rain, she is a bad mother. Good mothers do not send their children to be a slave in a mine. I say that assuming the Mother is a very powerful being, at least as strong as a Divinity. If she is rendered nearly powerless by struggles with the Father or what have you then she could be a good mother in a bad situation.

this conversation about his time as a slave just reminded me how as he was dying he saw his previous family and it was his mother who pretty much told him to not give up and that he's not a quitter. Maybe the Mother is a real thing in this world and Rain actually is her Chosen Son and that's the only reason he even survived that pit

gah, i didn't notice it was read only. My bad.

In the past spiritual weapons being broken has been described like losing a limb, but the limb can't be regrown. I'm not sure you can metaphorically heal a severed limb by cutting your connection to it. Put another way, a spiritual weapon is an extension of your core. When the weapon breaks that creates a hole in your core leaking chi / HE into the world. Broken Sword deals with this by generating chi faster then he loses it, but he also only has one hole in his core. Chi can't be used to fix the spiritual weapon, as it lacks the full power of HE, but perhaps HE can be used to fix the spiritual weapons.

Sooo i've been thinking: what if a core doesn't shatter as everyone thinks but instead its a sympathetic reaction between the owner and his broken weapons? In that case severing the connection between them would effectively "heal" the shattered core. I know its not related to the chappy but it bugs me. Plus it would mean he'd have to discard the ideas of Peace and Unity that could be fun :)

Alright, any other canonical issues asside it's a crime that hangman joranis spiritual rope isn't named "Noose".

Sure, he's super rude to modern sensibilities but he's used to dealing with ex-defiled junkies holding on through persuasion and hope. Privacy is sacrificed to help prevent slide back. Look at what happened recently with Vyakhya. Left on his own with only the Uniter's seduction and he fell back into old ways.

Patrick Lin

Aw man, the doc's view only again for us non-editors. I'll post some fixes here: "the room had reverted to it’s normal size": it's -> its "What can I do ye fer?”: Might not be an error, but should "do ye fer" be "do fer ye" instead? "Annoyed by what he say as": say -> saw "it felt like the bossman found found": Duplicate "found" "his accuracy was lacking so hence, today’s efforts": I think the comma should go after "lacking" instead Thanks for the chapter!

ThePolarParadox

Oh wait, misread. Not sure if Tenjin and Tursinai went with KB or are simply guarding from near Rain.

ThePolarParadox

Aside from Lin; Tenjin, Tursinai and, now, Jor are the only peeps who heard a direct telling of Rain's time in the mines from Rain himself. The Bekhai know, but then, they don't REALLY KNOW.

oh my tofu!

NomadicSoul

Tyrell Facey
