Good chapter

Young Youghurt

Ha I knew it! Trough the power of love Rain reigns supreme!

Kerrus Magrus

While I haven't been enjoying Rain's general lack of progress the most, I won't deny that this has been an extremely interesting arc. I definitely prefer when the story focuses on Rain, and the lack of progress on his part while the story focuses on other characters is... I don't know how to put it. Off putting? I don't know if this is an intentional literary device, but it seems like he only makes progress 'on screen'- so while time is passing, and physically he's getting better, if the story skips three weeks, Rain hasn't made three weeks of progress- the speed of mental recovery wouldn't be as off-putting, I think, if he had. Of course I also recognize that this would cause pacing issues, so I don't *think* that the way the story has been told is the wrong way. Certainly I subscribed to the patreon to get a look ahead because I was interested in the direction of the story and the eventual resolution of this arc. I feel like with the major hurdle of his body waking back up, he's on the road to properly recover- but to me it's a question of how long that takes given the ratio of interludes to Rain-focused chapters. I will say that I really appreciate the use of 'Rain Interludes' within a non-Rain chapter that have started showing up the past 3-4 chapters. It lets you provide Rain's insight and responses, without dedicating an entire Chapter's worth of 'Rain moaning about his trauma'. Maybe that means he'll make progress at a better ratio, idk- but I really do appreciate not going through 5+ interludes to get a chapter that, while interesting insofar as providing cool lore or other information, largely consists of Rain complaining to himself about how this is all a trap and he should just die faster.

yep, he scrolls through em in this chapter.

Thenais

Do Rain still get snoot selfies now that he as waken up ?

Sebastian Berobo

I love this story Ruff and will stick with you and this story till the end. As for people complaining about the pace i can say this much for myself after a bit of introspection: The pace feeling slow is only a "problem" as such because chapters are released every other day and as a junkie that's really anticipating all that's going to happen, the wait combined with the pace feeling slow can make it a little painful (although it hasnt really been all that slow, its simply anticipation overload that makes it feel that way for me ). Oh, and i also love the tidbits of Rain PoV we get every chapter now! Before i've occationally felt slightly disappointed when one or more entire chapters have been dedicated to other PoVs(when Rain is the most interesting to read about) - especially when things have been particularly exciting around Rain, but this little blend of both feels amazing to read.

Am going literally as fast as I can. between 653 and 654, a month passes. 655 same day, but 656 is after a week or two of discussion, while 657 is after several weeks of treatment. I get that a lot of people aren't gonna like this part, but honestly, I don't know how else to write it in a way that I would enjoy. This is the only way i know how to tell the story I want to write. Is it the best way? Hellllll no, but it holds my interest, and that's enough for me.

Ignoring all the other stuff he's done, his Core is also fixed this chapter, so I would say we've moved past physically broken. Just mentally now.

Thanks, fixed

Thenais

there is a giant timeskip in this chapter, and people are still saying it's too slow !!!

Zarik0

I get it people are a little upset and its slow progress, but with how many line of tread and character in this story, well its normal its "slow" IRL and as just im anticipating the apex, its this suffering building slow who get us thrilled, personnaly i love it, little slow yes, but its to complex to just bam and that it, its suck in time IRL but when we in 50 more chapter people coming reading after us gonna say its so good and not "slow" this part of arc So yes you gonna maybe loose people who cant support it more because time IRL and expectation are to hight their poor little hearth go bam but dont surrender, just keep do your weaving at your pace and dont rush and skip thing, the pace (time in the story) is slow but the content to weave is enormous with so many character and thing happenning (and i support you not cut too many of them, its this diversity who get me hooked on it)

Tomi .

*Sigh* this is getting tiresome. When does savage divinity end again?

Nigel Franklin

I truly enjoy this story and I usually like the inner monologues from different POVs. But this is like if a 2 hour movie devoted 30 minutes to all the times the main characters went to the bathroom or had a quiet meal. Falling Rain got mind-f****d, he's having some sort of solipsistic, existential crisis. I accept that this situation will take time to develop. I respect your craft and I don't want to put myself in the arrogant position of telling you how to create. There are probably a lot of good storytelling methods one could use for going from here to wherever you want to take things. But I can say that whatever a good solution would be, burning through a month of actual real world time telling us about every time rain farted in his coma isn't it. This is going from "slow burn" to "not interesting enough to read"

Gjim

Yeah, after getting tortured so thoroughly I can understand why he'd doubt that this is real or even want to get up from his meta physical couch. As much as I would love to see Rain emerge going super saiyan or having a stand power, this approach works better. It maybe slow going, but seeing the story from other characters point of views is nice so I'm sure there will be resolution in time and that it will be worth the wait. At the end of this chapter all I could was "he turned himself into a pickle and it was the funniest thing Id ever seen. Thanks for playin.

Sassy

Thanks for the chapter! I have been really enjoying the slow pace.

Prinny Knight

Author: "Remember when I made him a vegetable? Well, your really gonna hate this, POW hes now a hollowed out pumpkin"

You are pulling this 'broken, weak and powerless' too far. This last ark has sort of made me regret reading the last ark after he hurt himself. While I understand damage to mind, soul and body takes long to heal, I would rather see a time skip with a summary than stretching this on forever. Even a sacrifice that causes a miracle and kills him in the end, taking many defiled with him, would be better than this

Umut Numanoglu

Typo he would win 999 battles out of 100-> 1000

Blah64

you're.... you're kidding right?

NeWorlDark

Falling Rain, an essay on why realism can be bad storytelling.

A tortured and broken mind needs time to heal. This is a good reprieve for Rain. He'll need all the selfies and hopefully short vids of his beloved family and pets for when the final battle comes.

Math! lol i fixed it in my doc, but i never edit patreon till next release

Hazza Vanderbyl

Every time he has a battle, he wins 9.9 times

Morog T Tiny

this delay is just not building the story for me

Andrew

Thank you!

Stockmar

It's a necessary evil :p (the explanations of what's going on) It's good to know why things happen, and besides we have not seen the chapter's final form xD. (Aka final edit)

Matt

Rain needs to wake up. Didn’t enjoy this chapter.

Nigel Franklin

I'll be honest. This delay is becoming a bit tiresome. The place has been set, we've had plenty of Christmas movie moments showing how much the world needs him. At this point I consider these chapters just filler.

Adrian Gorgey

Duuuuuude waaaaaake uuuuuuuup and seize supreme power

Gardor

What do you do when you hate your main character? Put him into another coma and have him be such a bummer that him dying is the better option compared to reading more self degrading monologues.

Jabari Lambert

Rain is actually starting to upset me now, when did he become such a coward
