Forgot to mention there's a vid of Rangel and Robinson at Midwestern Marx youtube channel. What I like best is Robinson's anger.

Thx, Justin. I read that piece some months ago and briefly corresponded with Rangel and Robinson abt it. I had written a screed about R. D. G. Kelley, Robinson's protege and guarddog in the House of Race, and they enjoyed it. Linked here if you are interested. It's way too long, but it was the bottled up frustration from 50 years of political activism being released. https://saveourcola3.blogspot.com/2024/07/racebots-in-raceworld-brief-history-of.html

I subscribed after listening to this episode. What a fantastic discussion of Bhaskar’s work and its implications. I had never heard of him but now I can’t wait to dig into his texts. Shared and recommended already too! Thanks

I was wondering if/when you'd be discussing Critical Realism. Thanks for this great, critical and thoughtful conversation! Personally CR really helped me a lot in guiding my own research on farmers, particularly in resolving methodological questions like: what's the point of doing empirical work, if it's all interpretation? Or does it make sense to use multiple methods, Or should we go beyond description but in fact attempt explanation and what's the role of social theory in that endeavour.... Your discussion on Bashkar's CR in relation to socialism made me further realize that I was actually looking for a philosophy of science that could underlabour the politics implicit in my research all along...

Why don't you folks tackle the book that gave the ghetto a racism to call their own: Black Marxism.

Another great show, thx, never heard of Bhaskar.
