Status Update #61

This week we've continued filling in the gaps with missing content and placeholders. Mostly things like drawings and alt angle renders for the perspective button that sometimes shows up in the top right. We've also been editing a lewd scene for better consistency and flow. There were also some all around fixes, post-processing of renders and making a new Android test version.
Next week we'll be editing a hotdog scene and implementing some of the planned changes for it. We changed it previously to make it more interactive, and that part now needs some extra love so it makes sense again. It turned into a bit of a mess. The polish has done it again.
How is the update?
"When update?" is becoming very relevant again, and it's in our thoughts daily at this point. Things tend to slow down quite a bit as we move on to the lovely polishing stage that earns us the feedback we often get. At this stage there aren't many "fun" things to show or poll. The things left are mostly technical or spoilers, both of which we'd like to avoid sharing in the status updates. However, the update is currently at over 4k renders and about double that in animation frames for video production.
That's not where the work ends unfortunately. We're always trying to keep the post-production/polishing simple. It's not always super efficient, but the outcome tends to be acceptable. Our approach to this was... quite different before 0.5. And in many ways, the long form we've been trying these past few updates has hindered us a lot. In all honesty, short form might be a better fit for us. And we've got a fix coming up for this, which is that the updates are no longer going to have a set end point that we're working towards. Instead the updates will have simple render-based goals, and you can chain several updates together if you want to wait for more content.
If it is any comfort, the next update will have new sexual content with main girls. The kind that people have been requesting for a while now. We thought it was obvious, but we probably could've made that point more clear. That's our bad, we haven't explicitly said whether you'll get to bang Helen or the others since it's a spoiler. But, reaching the lewd and sexual content has been our goal for 0.7, and that will continue being a goal for the next few updates since that content can be reached within the render goal. So in that sense, the update is doing good. Hopefully it'll play out that way too. And don't worry, there's also some plot for those who don't like girls.

I don't know if 9 renders per day is a lot or not but I know that 4000 for an update is a HUGE amount! I've seen Devs say they do around 150 renders per week, so that's about 20 per day but those renders don't come close to NFG standards so yeah 9 per day could be a lot 🤷🏾♂️ Esp when you factor in that there's a lot more to making this update than just producing renders. You'll get your interest back when we get closer to release mate, I'm confident 😁

4000 renders in 15 months equates to aprox. 9 renders per day. I don't know if that's a lot or a little. I just know that my interest for the game is slowly waning.

I think that will please more people tbh. And for those of us who don't mind waiting because we prefer larger updates, we can just wait until there are more updates and download them altogether 🙂

Bloody Polish has done it again. If they aren't coming over here taking our jobs.... Oh wait, what?? Oh polish! 😜😜 4000 renders??? HOLY FUCK-MUNCH BATMAN, THAT'S FUCKING HUGE!!! Excited! Lots of testing is good news.... Love for Android is excellent news... And yeah, we all knew there was MG lewd content coming this update, didn't we? You made it obvious enough 😁 I know I speak for everyone here when I say I can't wait to bang Helen! 🤣🤣 Oh just wanna point out, most Devs Don't respond like you guys do. You answer messages, you reply to comments, you accept criticism, even when it lacks constructiveness. Some Devs will ban you if you were to question anything about their process or their game 😂 Honestly, you guys are number 1 and I can't wait for this new update to drop so you guys can get some well deserved love again. Thanks for the update

Said it a few weeks ago, wanna say it again here, great job with the updates and what we get out of it. How it's going is clear, how much as been done is clearly assessed (more or less but whatever it's good!) I wish you guyz the best and keep on the good work.

I will say it again: I'm willing to wait for something of quality and thoughtfulness especially in the Ren'Py space. That being said I think the dip fed shorter dev time releases going forward will be the way to go.
